Brand spanking new truck, change the engine oil and filter and differential fluid at 1,000 miles. Put in Mobil 1 15W-50 in engine, Mobil 1 synthetic gear lube in dif(s).
Then change oil in engine at 5,000 mile intervals. You can leave the dif fluid in their for a LONG time, but if you tow heavy things a lot, I'd change the dif fluid at 15,000 mile intervals.
I'll not go into a 42 page disertation on why I'm saying these intervals. Suffice it to say I'm 48, used to work on jet engines, have two friends in the oil analysis/testing business and have owned three Porsche's and have been towing heavy rigs most of my life.
I dont think I would go as thick as 15w50 (even though mobil 1 does flow on the thin side). I would put in M1 0w40. There have been some good oil analysis results with this oil in a Titan posted awhile ago.

I was told by Patterson Nissan's service manager, if I go pass 3500 mile on my oil change, regardless of the type of oil, it would void the engine warranty. I am running Mobil 1, but plan to change oil at 3500 miles.

How would they know that you went past 3500 miles?

Patterson Nissan's service manager needs to read the book. The non-severe service oil change interval is 7,500 miles.

Good thinking Scott, even though M1 flows better than a conventional dino the 15W-50 is STILL a 50W when hot. Perhaps we need someone who is running this thicker oil to do an oil analysis. I've tried the 15W-50 before in both of the Benzs I had and they both ate this oil, I never could figure out why because neither one used any oil as long as it wasn't M1's 15W-50, odd.
I have changed all my cars over to Synthetics after the first oil change. No power loss or oil consumption issues (and one revs to 6500rpm regularly). Seems fine with me. After all, it is just oil.

The only bad thing know about synthetics is that the corvetts come with M1 from the factory and they have a history of the rings not setting in to the pistons and it blowing white smoke on start up all good other than that. Thanks for the info my titan will turn 1000m tues. I will change to Castro Syntc first cahnce i get.

My Service and Maintance Guide has the first oil and filter change at 3750 miles, the second oil and filter change at 7500 miles. The service manual, section 9 page 4 says, that failing to follow reccomended maintance procedure may void warrenty.
I believe in frequent oil changes. Just to argue though, the service manual has good recommendations, but there is no oil change meter to throw a code for any technician to see. If you come in for service with 50,000 miles on the truck and all that comes out of the drain plug is 2 quarts of Log Cabin-looking maple syrup oil with chunks of rings and top end bearings floating around, they will know you haven't kept up the maintenance schedule. If you go 5000 miles on M1 or Amsoil you are doing your engine a good favor and your service dept. will be none the wiser that you are treating your truck so well yet going over 3500 miles between changes. BTW, i think theres a more loose maintenance schedule, like every 7500 miles. Would NOT recommend using that schedule with natural oils and average to heavy use.
Did anyone really wait 3750 miles before their first change? I really can't imagine letting myself go past 2000 miles with the break-in going on and all that crap floating around. I had to resist the temptation to dump the oil after the first drive home from the dealership ("the factory oil is good for break in... the factory oil is good for break in..")
I will not switch over to Mobil 1 until 3000 miles. I want my engine to break in first and allow my rings to seat properly. There is a lot of good history out there regarding synthetics.
