I was thinking about installing an electric fan as well. Was it difficult to install? What brand and model fan did you go with? Any info you can share would be appreciated.

Yep I can get 19.8 on the highway also. Average about 16-17 50/50 driving. This is with the mods in my signature.

Re: MPG Increase
I only get better MPG right after a good wash or wax... It slips through the air better and adds 2 or 3 MPG, easily....

Yup, I know I would have been at 22mpg if I washed it before I left...
It is my custom rod rack in back though that funnels air and acts as a jet propulsion system that gets me an extra 2mpg ...

Cover your truck with grease. That should help.

Re: MPG Increase
i used an electric fan from a lincoln mark8...sounds cheesy but it moves a ton of air and i was on a budget. since startup amps are supposed to be over 100amps i went with flex a lites variable speed controller since it has built in soft start. on start up im pulling around 35 amps then tappers back down to 13amps then jumps up to 23amps on high speed (if needed). i baught a 34mm water temp guage hose adapter since the kit comes with a wet sensor (had to drill and tap the adapter to fit the sensor properly as it is 1/4" and the adapter is 1/8") i baught some aluminum scrap 90 and flat from my local hardware store fitted it and riveted together to make the radiator fan mounts. it does look clean and has a billet look under the hood as the aluminum stands out. i could take pics and email if interested...still very happy with the mod!

Re: MPG Increase
If any of you are going by what the computer is calculating from the terribly inaccurate fuel gauge, you're suckers. The
ONLY way to calculate your mpgs is to fill the tank, zero the trip meter, run the truck to E, record the miles, fill up, and divide by the gallons put in.
Period, point blank. Everything else is a guesstimation.
