Slurppie - have you tried getting the ECM codes and clearing them yourself? Were you successful? I tried and couldn't get the CEL to blink. Any thoughts?

I haven't played with it on the Titan but I did it on my Altima. It took a few tries to get the timing right but it worked except I accidently ended up clearing the problem code out before I got to the dealership.

Well i put my K&N charger back on this morning and left the neg term unhooked for a good 10 hours, she started up fine and seems ok the real test is in the morning seems all the problems i have had have been in the early AM, no idea why. I went over it with a fine tooth comb looking for possible leaks and anything loose. looks good so far. I really dont want to have to scrap the charger yet it just runs to well with it to give up yet.

Hey Jet i have a question. If by chance the filter was over oiled from the factory (i dont think it was) and it did goo up the MAF. Me switching to the stock Air box wouldnt matter a bit because he MAF was still gummed up?? Im thinking more adn more that my problem was the computer not doing somthing correctly.
This is just my line of thinking but i really dont know this is my first Air charger.

You're absolutely correct in your logic because I was thinking the same thing. As soon as you reinstalled the factory intake and all was ok, that just ruled out any MAFS problem. That's why I'm leaning more towards a leak between the MAFS and the throttle body. Make sure everything is tight. A little trick that is commonly used is to take a propane tank (small one), turn just the propane on and hold it around suspected vacuum leaks, the engine will rev higher. Works great if you have one available to you...

If the truck is having problems at idle, wonder if the Idle Air learning feature would be of any use?

Im going to let it ride for a few days and let the outside Temp get a little higher then tighten everything up again. might try your propane trick after that.
Thanks for all your help on this. Im still wanting to get a Dual exhaust like Sammy's or the banks havnt made up my mind yet, but i want to get this figure out first.

Thanks again this forum has been a great source of info, I have been members on several boards and this one is BY FAR the most Civel and mature.
If ya ever come through Missouri give me a yell I would gladly by a fellow Titan owner a beer.

I've heard of people using some type of electical parts cleaner. Just make sure it doesn't leave any type of residue.

Anyone have dyno results from these "open" air intakes? The hole that feeds air to the engine in the airbox (via fender) is awefully small. It seems like anything would be an inprovement. Is the only downfall of the Volant the fitting? I kind of like having the filter in a box and a cold air snorkle (less noise). I had a K&N on my old Cherokee that had the 4.7 V8 and saw an improvement in mileage I just couldnt get over the sound.....Sounded like an old Chevy pickup with a 305 and the breather flipped.

I had several dyno runs accomplished with the stock setup and the Volant. Just click on my truck pics link and scroll down, you'll see the dyno sheet

Wow, great info Jet! Do you have the Bose system in your truck? Did adjusting the reception help? I have the Bose in my Armada but I havent noticed the reception fading in and out yet.....but then again most of the time I am listening to a CD. Do you know if there is a way to turn up the output of the sub? What about a list of all the so called "hidden" menus in the Nav system? Seen any of these?
