aaahhh.. like a RAM AIR tube... snorkel is usually like this one from AEM, for submersion purposes:
You're absolutely right about the fan's inability to mimick freeway speeds, as far as pushing a certain amount of CFMs into your ram air tube. I think the only hope for that would be a wind tunnel. Though a fan CERTAINLY helps get the air in there, versus sitting there with no air flow. Also helps the truck not overheat and give a bad dyno run, IMO.
