Talking Add Another Satisfied Magnaflow Dual Customer

Just picked up my truck- oops, I mean mama's truck (sorry dear) from the exhaust shop. It sounds exactly like I hoped it would. It is quiet at idle, but has a nice growl when accelerating then quiets back down when cruising at steady speed. Hard to keep my foot off the accelerator!

I went with the 5X11 aluminized dual in dual out with 2.25" pipes and magnaflow rolled edge tips 3.5" X 18". The tips are angled down and out at 45 degrees behind the wheels. Looks sweet! Total cost with tax $464.00 which is not as cheap as some but they did a nice job.

I will need to have the tips lowered just a bit since I just discovered I can't open the storage compartment on the driver side more than 3/4th- guess my guy didn't know what it was (it was his first Titan).

By the way, kudos to all who posted installation setups around the spare- I took all the pictures to my shop and they said it was a big help.

Smoketitan,

My set up is just like yours (except my rolled edge tips are angled down and dont show as much). You and Sammy provided most of my information. I was not able to take pics at the shop (forgot the camera), but I will take a couple of pics this weekend (when she is all cleaned up).

I did not go with an X Pipe since the magnaflow has the internal one- are you still satisfied without and have you developed any drone? My guy says that sound (not drone) will get a little louder as it breaks in.

no drone here at all-- --thats the reason I went to the larger 5x11, you have a drone????

and I happy without the x. I kinda wish I had spent the extra cash to get rolled tips

No drone at all. I was just curious to see if you had developed one at all since you've had your system for a little while. I guess the larger case is the key.

Question, has your sound changed as the ECU has adjusted?

I am stock other than the exhaust. It does seem to have lost a little punch from a dead stop, although it could be because I have been stepping on the pedal harder to hear the growl! If I read the message boards correctly, stepping on the gas all at once causes more of a delay than pushing 1/2 way then increasing pressure. I am a novice aftermarket guy, so can't say definitely one way or another.

I did go with the 2.25" pipe to try to avoid losing low end torque. We'll see what happens as the computer adjusts. Did it make a huge difference disconnecting the battery?

I really like mine as well. Sounds like you went similar to mine. I love the sound. You can see the pics in the pics thread under My Canteen Green Machine.
