? for those with angled exhaust tips

I just noticed that my exhaust tips are not welded on 360 degrees (more like 180). I have them angled out at 45 degrees behind the wheels. The tips are 2.5" inner diameter and the pipe is 2.25". Question is, what potential problem if any would this cause (muting of sound, loss of pressure, etc)? Not sure why I noticed, but I used a flashlight to look inside the tip and can definitely see light through the .5" gap (actually smaller because of the angle). The tips are secure, so that is not a concern. What do the exhaust gurus say?

Well, I'm not a guru, but sure sounds like sloppy work. Maybe temporarily plug the gaps, tape or something, see if sound changes? Bet it has no effect on performance, and I'd be interested to know if you can hear the difference.

the half welds, don't change nothing. the pressure is generated before the muffler. the tips are made for that pipe, so they seal good without clamps, the half is just to keep them from vibrating off.

I wouldn't worry about it. My last trucks tip was just tacked on because it was a slightly larger inside diameter than the exit pipe.

Mine are the same way. It's also better because if you choose to have any replumbing done of your exhaust (changing the exit in the rear) the tips will be easier to remove and reuse.
