Re: Proven EXHAUST thread by night owl******

ok... here's what i have done. i had stock manifolds, into cajun b pipes with no cats, into y pipe, into Cherry Bomb Extreme SI / DU exiting rear bumper. BAD BAD BAD CIS. so i swapped mufflers yesterday. now i have a DUAL IN DUAL OUT Borla Pro XS. CIS is completely gone... i mean COMPLETELY. That being said, it's only about 50% as loud as it was before. muffler is part number 400286. sounds good behind the truck. absolutely no drone inside... actually, you can hardly hear it inside if the windows are up. if you step on it, you know its there though. i'm satisfied for now. will be putting headers on later to wake her back up.

Headers will make that sound sooooo much nicer, you'll love it! They add a lot of volume too

Howdy night owl. I have an 08 Pro-4X. I want to get stillen headers and your Cajun b pipes with high flow cats. Will this pass emissions in Georgia, since the stillen headers would delete the factory front cats that are attached to the exhaust manifolds? If it won't pass emissions, what other options do I have?

I would appreciate anyone's input.

I can't guarantee anything on the emissions thing but I can tell you the berks and stillens pass and my bpipes are just as good if not better while being a lot cheaper. I have only sold a few sets of the cat pipes and no one has complained about emissions or cel. The cats I use are 400 cell highflow cats with a 5year/50k manufacture warranty. They are nice!

I'll be ordering some of those before February... ^^^

This guy is 2 miles south of the border to not need emissions....

-Stock exhaust manifold with oem cats
-2.250 Nightowl's b-pipes
-JBA cat-back exhaust with a Magnaflow muffler (part#12279)
-Vibrant Ultra quiet resonator 3"in/out (part#1141)

Idle-2
WOT-7
Start up sound -5
CIS- None
Rasp- None
Drone- None

This setup sounds good for me, not too loud but louder than stock.
No CIS, rasp or Drone since installing the Vibrant resonator after the muffler.

Re: Proven EXHAUST thread by night owl******

I had a 3" Vibrant 1142 UQ resonator installed today and shot a vid to compare it to an older setup.

This setup was:
AEM clone, stock TB, Doug Thorley headers, Berk-tech Bpipes, 07 pipes, 18" magnaflow, regular magnaflow tip.

Current setup:
FT90, Spectre 4", Doug Thorley Headers, Berk tech bpipes, 07 pipes, Jones bottle resonators, Borla ProXS, Vibrant res, Blastin Bob's resonated tip

I like it so far, seems like most of the CIS/rasp is gone during parked revs and take offs from a stop. Haven't had a chance to cruise the speeds & rpms where drone is at it's most potent.

Yea, I can hear a little hint of it but it's cool. It's more about reducing drone for me.

Hi y'all. I have an 08 pro-4x with stock exhaust. I added an 18" magnaflow dual in/single out muffler. I'm getting a lot of CIS, especially when the truck first runs until it gets warmed up. I bought a Borla pro xs but the guy at the muffler shop talked me out of the borla and I put on the magnaflow.

I'm thinking about switching to the borla. Should that get rid of the CIS sound? Any other suggestions?
