Nismo Supercharger?

Is there any chance of Nismo doing what TRD does and coming to the table with a warrantable(sp?) supercharger.I would love the increased performance but don't want to take a risk.

I think that there is a chance. Do you?

As far as Nismo actually doing that? I am only guessing, and I would bet that your guess is as good as anyones.
Why don't you write to Nissan (Nismo), and ask them? Maybe if they get enough interest...they will think about it. I don't know what kind of boost you are looking for. Just sea level would be nice here in the mountains.

Do you know what compression ratio Toyota starts with? I am not sure how much boost I would want to give a 9.8 to 1 compression ratio engine.

$4000.00 is a lot of money, but I think I would have to wait to see the gains before I decided if that was too steep for me.Beating up on harley ford's would be very much fun.

Any idea how to contact Nismo,I've been searching the web-site but can't seem to find what I'm looking for.

I would look around on [www.nissanusa.com] , see what you can find. There is a link to Nismo parts there, but I couldn't see anything for the Titan yet, or any way to contact them. You can look at what they have designed for the other vehicles.
Nismo is just a Nissan Performance parts name...so if you can find a way to ask Nissan, you might get an answer. I doubt that they will tell you anything before they tell the dealers though.

Personally, I doubt that Nissan will try to push another 100 hp out of the 5.6L, but you never know. Also, when looking at Nismo parts, keep in mind that R-Tune components are not covered under warranty...S-tune parts are.

Quiz: If you have 405 hp 450 lb ft of torque...do you think that the rest of the drive train can handle it?

As I spend more time there (Nismo) I'll get more comfortable.
400plus hp could be a little overkill, but by no means boring.

I have no way of knowing for sure, but my gut feeling tells me no.

I know it is apples and oranges, but on my Chevy SS, I am running 6 lbs of boost on 10:1 compression ratio, others have gone higher. I would not worry too much about it. Seems to me, you need to worry about what the "weak link" in the drivetrain will be. Not sure what that might be on your Titans, but on regular Silverados, it is the transmission (fortunately the SS has a upgraded transmission).

Yes, superchargers are expensive, but they deliver everyday power, not just when the bottle is full. They also provide power like a bigger engine, but without the big hit in the MPG department. You can retain stock MPG, if you drive within the stock engines performance, but life is too short for that, it is just too much fun to floor it There is also the undeniable "cool" factor of having a supercharger.

If Nissan is going to come out with one, it will come on the vehicle when you buy it, and not be available after the fact. They did the same thing with the Xterra. They put a supercharger on it from the factory, and they still haven't come out with a nismo kit for it! Plus if they ever do it will be an R-Tune product and it will not be covered under warranty! But who knows, they could make me into a liar!!

Jamie, what you say makes very good sense. But I'm going to cross my fingers that they make you into a liar.Who knows after all the good things I read about jet tech's mod's maybe that will be enough for me.Somehow I don't think I will be able to do similar mods for that low price, being way up in Canada the competition isn't as stiff.
Much abliged(sp?) for your input,I'm sure what you say will be the truth, but I can still hope.

Toyota and TRD were very smart by releasing a supercharger for the tacoma/tundra that doesn't kill your warranty.

I think nismo needs to show that level of backing in their product. At least toyota shows me that they put enough faith in their products (engine and s/c) to give me a no-questions-asked warranty coverage when they see the blower.

The tacoma is 9.6:1 I believe, and we run 8-9psi all-day long with a couple fuel mods. Someone was running 26psi for a couple months until he blew a headgasket.
