Air Raid Intake

I see Air Raid finally has an application for us.
http://www.airraid.com/520-152_nissan.asp

I looks relatively easy to install (I'm mechanically challenged)...

Has anyone tried on if these yet? I keep seeing posts on Volant and K&N.

Opinions?

Thanks in Advance.

this one appears to just replace the stock air box and the filter just bolts onto the end of the stock intake tube. Not a bad idea, looks like it would be really easy to install, if they don't want too much for it..

Looks like a clone of the K&N system. The filter more than likely is a K&N manufactored for AirRaid just like K&N builds the filters for AEM and slaps the AEM logo on the end cap.

the more I look at this system the less appealing it seems. The whole kit is nothing more than a conical filter, MAFS adaptor/filter attachment, and a cheesy looking cover that mounts to the factory airbox.

If you look at the installed photos it appears the conical filter is blocking off the intake hole in the fenderwell. This kit had better be real cheap because it sure looks that way.

It doesn't appear to replace the factory intake tube, so no benefit of a smoother tube as with the KN and Volant.

Who knows, here is a dyno from someone putting a Type R sticker on the exhaust to make the gases flow faster.
