1900 miles. About 75 degrees and 50 % humidity. 91 Octane gas. Regular engine oil. Tested on a DynoJet. 'SES' light on. See below for list of mods. Fairly consistant tith MikeZ's results.

Given all the unaccounted for variables, whatever they may be, 5 hp isn't much of a difference. I am wondering though, what effect the amount of miles on the respective motors has.
A point of clarification - sorry; This dyno test was performed with a TrueFlow CAI system, and not the K&N 77 system.
All things considered, I'm really wondering how another Titan owners Dyno came in at just about 300 hp?!?

I know which one you are talking about kenrauch. I wondered same thing. As PC touched on, I KNOW the Titan likes more air flow, big butt dyno difference when I pulled the resonators and opened up to 2.5. Good numbers. Will be doing another run after Volant comes in.
Looks like there isnt much gain from headers (though I wouldnt expect too much from shorties). It seems like the most restriction is in the stock exhaust after the cats.
Thanks for dynoing your trucks guys so that we can learn from them. I also noticed a dyno that showed the a/f ratio right around 13.0 (right where it should be).
There are variables between dynos so I would worry too much about the difference in the two. We have two dynos in town that are ~5hp off each other.

You guys really need to stop comparing dyno charts from different model dynos, different dynos, and different shops. Dynos are a tuning tool. They are there to give you a consistent baseline to tune with. They are not something that gives you numbers to jerk off to. A lot of factors come into play in determining dyno numbers. I've even seen people compare numbers from Mustang dynos to Dynojet 248c dynos to AWD dynos to Dynapack dynos. You can't do that. Each has a different way of producing WHP and WTQ numbers. It's not even that good to compare dyno numbers from the same MODEL of dyno because different shops might have monkeys as operators. Tire pressures, wheel size, alignment, and how tight you strap down the car can drastically change results. You guys should really compare your trucks with previous dyno sheets from the SAME shop and SAME dyno to see if the mods helped your car. Don't think that there is something is wrong with your car just because you dynoed less than someone else on this forum even though you had more mods. Were you 4X4 compared to a 4X2? There are way too many unknown factors.
92Se-R is correct, there are too many variables to compare different dyno results for different vehicles. Even the gear tested in will give different results. 3rd gear will probably give you higher results than 2nd.

As it should being a higher gear. For a true measurement, you should dyno in 4th gears as it is 1:1. I dont think our governer will allow us to dyno in that gear though.
I dont see anything wrong with people comparing mods and dyno numbers. They wont be exactly alike, but they should be close with similar mods (assuming they use the same brand of dyno).
Like 92Se-R said, it is just a tuning tool. Nothing more.

I find it interesting to see that the Titan' torque drops off after it intersects with the HP line. I am used to seeing it continue to climb for a while on Chevys. And I agree with 92SE-R. There are a lot of "adjustments" that they make to dyno numbers before the print your graph. They are honest attempts to compensate for temp, altitude, etc. The most suspect number is the "flywheel HP" number that they derive from some assumed drivetrain loss and the RWHP observered. But everyone seem to have a bit of a different method to their madness. An unscrupulous dyno operator can give you exactly the numbers you are expecting, just by adjusting the fudge factors a bit.

As I pointed out in a prevous post, there are many unknown factors. Do you think you could have made your point without the "jacking off" comment? Who made you the dyno police? I guess since we all 'need to stop' comparing dynos, we should ask you for permission next time. I personally pointed out that my dyno was 'fairly consistant' with mikeZ's and nothing more. Dude, get off your horse. Obviously you are informed on such issues and your points are well taken but your delivery could use some tact. IMO people are here to enjoy their truck and discuss all things associated, but when some 'jerk off' comes along with a superior condescending attitude in their posts they throw a cloud over the atmosphere and purpose of this forum. I think I'll stop here.
