stock intake mod

I noticed that the hole in the fenderwell for the intake is really quite a bit bigger than the air tube that runs through it. I took the tube off the airbox and went to home depot plumbing department and got one of those rubber pipe connector/reducers. I got one that goes from 4inch to six inch. Squashed oval, the big end fits right into the hole in the fender and the 4 inch side sticks out ready to connect to the airbox. I taped together kind of a mock up of an intake tube and ran around like a madman for a few minutes and it seems like it jumps a little quicker, at least throttle response is slightly better. I'm gonna get some 4 inch 45 degree PVC pipe tommorrow and see what else I can do.

anyone who wants to get rid of a takeoff stock airbox for $25 plus shipping, PM me. I need one to experiment with.

Be careful with the PVC piping. When heated, PVC releases some nasty fumes. I dont know if these fumes would be anything that could screw up the motor by possibly gunking something up, but it's worth a thought. ABS plastic would be a better choice if you can get some.
