Hope i can shed some light into your questions.... BDGT is one of the BEST, Bang for your buck!!! click here: Bully Dog INSTALL
Yes you can find some used BullyDog Power Pups but you have to make sure you have the updated software and it is unmarried to the truck. If the unit locks up. You have to send into Bullydog and pay to unlock it which could be up to $150 or hear "We don't support the PP anymore. Support is great from Bullydog BTW. Advantage of the BDGT is that if you have any problems, get them on the phone and tell them, in most cases if you have problems they can help solve the issue by sending you a file via email in which you can update yourself within minutes.
AirAid intakes is another MOD we recommend too. AirAid intakes is another MOD we recommend too. We HAVE the BEST pricing compared to any of our competitors we can't advertise the price so PM us.
Buying from Amazon or Ebay is a good alternative. But why not support a "Supporting Vendor" and is a part that we have installed on OUR truck, It's been tested, tutorials with installation and if you EVER have a problem you can simply pick up the phone and call us. TAP Auto Parts has an Easy 30 day return policy. When was the last time you had to call Ebay or Amazon and gotten a live person?? Lol Although, our site is a work in progress we hope that it will be up shortly. We thank you for your patience and look forward in working with you!! Call, Email, or PM us!!!

One thing you may not realize about powering the thing up. The extra cable to mount into your fuse box is just so you don't have to get power from the OBD port that you are plugged into. I personally found no reason to wire it up to the fuse box. There is a switch on the side of the OBD connector to use "external" power or use power from the plug itself. Bottom line, wiring into the fuse box doesn't prevent you from having to plug it into the OBD port, so I would just use power from there.
The only nice thing about powering it from an external source is if it's wired into an ignition fuse, it will be off when the truck is off as long as the switch is set properly. I never left it plugged into the port when I wasn't in my truck, so I never experienced potential battery drain anyway. Does that make sense?

Here is a picture of an add a circuit. It has 2 fuse sockets, 1 is for the source you're using and the other is connected to the wire for the added device. You would use the original fuse from the socket and whatever would be good for your added device(I think I just used a small 5 amp just to be safe, because I would rather in pop the fuse than overload the circuit. It has never popped.). They are really neat and are way safer than the old school jamming a wire in a fuse. I used one of the cigarette lighter fuses that shuts off with the ignition in my wifes car. I just plugged in a usb charger in the cigarette lighters until I found one that wasn't on with with the key off. I have never installed a bdgt so all that info will be up to you. It sounds like tight24 has a really good explanation of the power use. I know when I get mine I will probably use the add a circuit so it turns on and off with the ignition, but thats me.

Sorry I misunderstood you. TYou do not have power seats so you used the fuse circuit because there isn't one in there. What amp fuse is it?
Correct I used exactly what was posted in the pic. No cutting and splicing needed. Im not totally sure but I think it was a 5 amp. I bought a kit of different amperages so I could tap into any circuit. Good luck.

Thanks for the info Mike. I wish I got your post sooner. I had already ordered it. And I just received today. When I am ready to buy the Airaid I will give you a call. Being new to this site, I did not realize that there were Supporting Vendors. I will call you in the future for future purchases. Thank you.

I just received my Bully today. All I can say is wow. I got it updated and installed in the T via OBD Port. I wish there were more detailed instructions. If I had known this, I would have bought from Tap Auto to acess their Techs.
Anyway, 2 questions I have about the settings.
I bought this primarily for increased gains for towing. Which download settings would be conducive to towing?
Also want to increase fuel economy while towing and regular driving.
What settings would be used in this case?

Just run the 87 tune and advance the timing 2*. Wot off. That will hunt.....
When you say WOT Off, do you mean take the WOT Restriction Off? That always confuses me. What will this do for my fuel economy?
Also it is possible to do a 4* advance if the Bully is connectes, correct? Will this increase my gains even more?

Thanks for the picture. I actually bought a fuse tap with the Bully. However, it is the wrong size. The fuses in the passenger compartment are much smaller. Do the make a smaller fuse tap? Or is there a way to use this tap with the passenger fuse panel?

I noticed zero diffence in mileage with WOT restriction removed or in place. My foot stays on the floor one way or another as I get up to speed. If anything with the restriction removed I get better mileage because I can only stay in it under 10 seconds without having other concerns. By 10s I am at 80-85 mph.

I would assume with the WOT governor on you would get better mileage.
Do you tow?
What do you have your throttle set at?
What gas tune do you use?
And there is an option to set Economy percentage, what is this for?
I wish they gave clear cut explainations for each option. Especially for a novice like me.
