Hey fellas. After doing the 2* Advance, I know caught the preformance bug! I want to install an intake and also a Bully. At the moment, I can only afford to do one of the upgrades. My question is, which one should I do first?
What I am trying to accomplish is to increase my gains for towing. I noticed on another thread that people were torn between the airaid and injet intakes. Doing my research, I was leaning towards the airaid. I suppose it is all up to personal opinion which one to install. Anyway, can you guys give me some feed back on this dilemma before me? Thanks.
I'm doing airaid mxp, bdgt and magnaflow catback. Those will give you the best gains without going into headers or engine work. The mxp and magnaflow catback are dyno proven to put down the most power. The bdgt is for wot restriction and 2* advance, which you already did.
If it were me I would go bdgt first and then start saving for the airaid mxp, but if you plan to add headers you might want to look into uprev, because you will need it, but if you don't plan to get them, bdgt all the way.

If all you want is performance per se, a handheld tuner should be first. You'll see the best gains from that in HP and TQ. Having said that, I've had the BDPP, BDGT, Superchips, and Hypertech. The Hypertech was the best for my truck as far as performance and was proven at the track to be the best. I'm an 05 non flex fuel though, so I honestly don't know how that affects anything. I do know 06Hemi runs the Hypertech as well and has had great success with it. The only thing the BDGT has going for it is the monitoring capabilities. Again, I have had them all at the track and the Hypertech was the best for my truck.
BTW, if you're basing your budget off of the cost of a new BDGT, don't. You may be able to find a used tuner and Airaid for a decent amount. Just monitor the BST area here.

One more thing, not to thread jack, but I'm not sure the Maggie catback is still the best out there. it's a great design, and it's what I have as well as a lot of others, but I think some folks are having really good success with different mufflers. It will also depend what year truck the OP has. If it's 07+, just a flowmaster Y and good muffler will do wonders and I think is proven to be the best flowing setup, even over replacing with a full catback design from a manufacturer.

There is a thread that has dyno's for all cbe systems and the magnaflow outdone the best numbers.
Agreed, but that was for full catback systems. My point was that some of the best track times were not from a full catback system like I am running. It is with a flowmaster Y pipe into different muffler type. Just don't want someone to spend a boatload of cash on a full catback when better performance gains can be had for a lot less.

Bdgt then cai then bpipes and catback. You can see awesome gains with those mods. Click on my username and visit my home page for a video stock vs bdgt tune on my 05.

You are the first person to reccommend a Hypertech. Everyone on here suggests the Bully. I suppose for my needs is why. It also has the gauge monitoring that I would need for towing. So it is conducive to my needs.
Is the hypertech as good or better than a Bully? Supposing I was not using it for towing. I should have added that I have a 2011 SV with big tow. I do not intend to install headers. I had a 2004 prior. I was looking into buying a Superchip Programer. I just assumed they had it for the 2011. I was wrong. So now my choices are limited. and thanks for the advice on buying a used Bully. That did not even occur to me.
So far I got one CAi and several Bully. I am thinking also with going with a Bully. Which is one of 2 options I have. I have a 2011 SV with Big Tow. So no Suoerchip for me. Thanks for the input Fellas!
I bought my aem intake first then my bdgt. Each excited me I loved the intake noise and power but the bdgt completely blew my expectations away and was more power for the money. I'd have gotten it before if I had the fore sight
