Go with a 40 series Flowmaster... 10 series is more for racing, and a ticket magnet too. Trust me on that, my 69 GMC came with a set of the FM 10 series Delta Force Racing mufflers with a 454 and LT headers pushing them. Had a public nuasance warning in my mail box with in 2 days of having the truck.
I love mine FM 40 series dual setup without headers and b-pipes. But those go on when I get home. And I am sure I will still like the sound then. We all have our preferred brand though, or a certain sound that we want. But, I think if FM is the brand you like, the 40 series will give you the sound and loudness you want.
Just don't plan on clean sound with a chokemaster...
My opinion is different than yours. I have a very nice clean sound from my FlowMaster, and I had a noticeable improvement to my performance over the stock setup. Many of the Titan guys in my area ask what I am running when they see and here my truck and like it better than whatever aftermarket setup they are running (Magnaflow and Borla, haven't seen any guys running banks around). Maybe my exhaust guy is just that talented though, 30+ years of experience has to count for something in the business.
i like the tone of the flowmasters, so what is everyones opinion? I have jba shorties and will be putting on some hi flo cats. i like the truck loud but not ticket loud. can someone give some advice or even better, a sound clip of your truck with Jba headers and muffler set ups
I had a super 40 on mine and the sound was pretty decent, but I had stock manifolds and b pipes. I haven't read anything positive about flowmaster mufflers when you start opening up the exhaust more. Our T's are very finicky when it comes to the exhaust. You will start to get really bad cis the more you open it up, depending on what exhaust/muffler you get. I had very minor cis with mine, it wasn't bad enough to bother me. If you want a nice deep tone that isn't crazy loud the borla proXS sounds great with headers. One bit of advise/opinion I have is now that I put my new gibson MME on my T, I will never put another flowmaster on it.

I have heard in person, and experimented with just about every type of muffler out there on these trucks (Including several headered trucks, as well as different b-pipe setups). Chokemasters sound ok on non-headered rigs, but with headers they sound like broken glass. Hence why I said that... Ya know, because he mentions having headers. There's a reason I won't run anything but a borla on my headered rig...

which borla should i get? i have two flo pro's on my truck now because its a true dual. would it sound better if i got two borlas or should i just use one borla?
I have the super 40 fm on mines with stock manifolds which is just right with the sound. I bought the Jba shorty headers but with good advice from nightowl I'll be swapping them out for longtube headers and might have to swap out my flowmaster, it's pretty loud now I can imagine how it will sound with headers and Cajun cat b pipes!!
