Quick exhaust question.

So I'm looking to add a catback to the T. I know I want decent gains and good sound and minimal drone, but it can't be TOO loud. My wife has already suffered through a Mustang with long tubes and cat less exhaust and our first child is due any day. So I have narrowed it down to these two.

Gibson split rear system
Gibson 68200 Split rear Exhaust System | Auto Parts Warehouse

And

Gibson dual extreme
Gibson 68100 Dual Extreme Exhaust System | Auto Parts Warehouse

My questions are:
1) If there is any sound/performance difference between the two (other than exiting in different locations)

2) If anyone thinks these wont meet my before mentioned needs

3) Any general opinions/advise.

Thanks for the help in advance!

I've only heard a couple of these systems on YouTube, never in person. From what I understand, they are very tame and should meet your needs. Good luck!

Re: Quick exhaust question.

Yes the Gibson and JBA are very tame but make very good power. Also the price cant be beat.

The Gibson is nice. Wish i went with the extreme. I have the swept side and the sound is nice, deep mellow tone. If you ever put headers on your truck it will be very noisy, but with stock manifolds you'll be good.

Re: Quick exhaust question.

I would suggest the gibson swept side. It has some very good gains and will definitely be good for having a new born and a wife. lol the split rear should be a good choice too, I just haven't heard much about it.

Re: Quick exhaust question.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Glad I'm headed in the right direction. Anyone know if there is a difference between the two other than exit location? All I can find is that the extreme exits at an "aggressive" angle.

Re: Quick exhaust question.

You are correct about the difference between the split rear and extreme. They put out the same sound level. Here is a link to gibsons site about mid page there is a chart on how loud the exhaust series is.

Re: Quick exhaust question.

lol no problem. the only reason I ever ran across that graph was because I was trying to find info on my Metal Mulisha exhaust. Now you just have to decide what look you want. I like the look of the extreme the best. plus if you ever tow your exhaust won't reflect back into the cab or cook whatever is behind it. lol

I'm willing to accept a reasonable decibel level since the header install. I'd like it to be a touch louder without getting any CIS.
