0-60 mph times - 7.5 seconds and under

Anybody out there with unmodified Titans that can get the 7.5 and under 0-60 times that all of the media reviews are posting? The best I have been able to get with my 4 x 4 SE King Cab Titan has been 8.58 seconds. Pass on any tips that will bring the times down.

If you have it, turning the VDC off will help a lot. Part of the VDC is reducing engine output when the tires slip. Also, using 3/4 throttle for the first few seconds before going WOT (wide open throttle) seems to keep from 'bogging' the motor down. When I floor it from a stand still, it seems to bog down for a second, then pick back up.

Kind of like the old Quadrajet carbs used to do. We used to call them the Stumblejets, because they dumped so much fuel at WOT, the motor kind of got flooded for a second before the airflow could catch up. But that's a different story...

Still haven't gotten under 8 seconds either, so I'm open to suggestions as well.

Are either of you running at sea level? Air temperature and density make a big difference. I don't expect to ever go that fast here, I am at 4300 ft elevation, and higher most of the time. If density altitude is at 4300 ft, I am only developing approximately 88% of sea level power. At 8000 ft, I am at approx 75%. This calculated using Standard Day sea level temp of 59 deg F.
Temperature here on a "Standard Day" would only be about 49 Degrees F.

I'm in Tulsa, which is about 600 ft above sea level. One thing I'm wondering.....the off-road package has a lower final drive ratio which might make the difference. I don't have that package. Can anyone verify that? Give us your 0-60 times!

Definitely not high tech......stop watch function on my watch. I ran 4 times with only about .05 seconds variation.

Hou-Titan,
Do you have the off-road package? It has a lower rear drive ratio.

G-TECH- no effort 8.01

I have a KC XE 2WD 2.94,and with no effort(just pulled to the side, stopped, and mashed the gas)I did 8.01 with G-tech at about 500 miles.I'm sure with a bit of practice I could better that.Charlie

I have a 2wd,KC w/big tow. And using a g-tec on my favorite "test" road I did 2 passes in either dirextion and got a 7.55, 7.65, 8.05, 7.65. The 8.05 was probably something I did wrong. That was all with the VDC on. I will try it again with it off. Just so you know, most manufacures just plain lie about the performance of thier cars, the magazines too. I have mustang that will run with any stock vette or most any other 350-400hp production car (mid 13's at the track, 14.1 @ 106 using g-tec, traction is hard to get on the street) and they all claim 4-5 sec 0-60. The best I can get on the street is 6.1 in my car. I know its far off of track conditions, and it is still as quick or quicker than some of the new cars claiming to run 4-5 sec 0-60.

Check this link out, if these times are acurate then 6.9 isn't far of from some Sports Cars like the $80,000 Acura NSX @ 6.5, Honda S2000, with a 0 to 60 of 6.4 and the Dodge SRT-4 comming in at 6.7. Lancer Evo at 6.0. Yeah I'm comparing a 5000 pound + 4x4 to these Sports Vehicles and the 6.9 on a Big Azz Titan doesn't look too bad...

Don't know where you got those times from but the NSX as well as the little neon ,as well as the evo puts dowm faster 0-60 times that you posted.

Yes, if you look at my post I got it from the link in my post after a search for 0 to 60 times in google. I wasn't sure if they were accurate so that's why I questioned it... Thanks for clearing it up..
