What is this comment supposed to accomplish? It does nothing more than make the guy feel bad that he asked a legitimate question. Sure the topic has been covered before and so have many others but yet as long as someone new signs in and asks the same question, we have the responsibility to politely answer it again and again. If you don't want to answer the question again, fine, let someone else do it, but don't shoot him down without even giving him an explanation.

Nope, they have the responsibility to search for their question prior to asking it. Then we wouldn't have to relive the same topics over and over again.
