Volant Cold Air Intake

I received the Volant this past Thursday and installed on Friday. All I can say is wow. I was skeptical if it would really make much difference. It may be because I already had an aftermarket exhaust on the truck but I will tell you the difference is noticeable. The sound is terrific when you punch it. It really opens the truck up. Throttle response is much quicker also. I give the Volant a 9 out of 10 for performance upgrade and on a scale of 1 to 5 for difficulty to install a 2. It took me about 1 hour 15 minutes but thats because I was taking pictures the entire time after each step. If interested I did a install review with lots of deatialed pictures. Check it out if you want Volant Intake Install I recomend it to anyone looking for a little more from their Titan.

Hey thanks Mike. Yeh I did have the stock intake mod already and yes I definately noticed a difference. I do have an aftermarket exhaust which I'm sure helped, but I had that exhaust on with the stock intake mod also. It is a great extra sound you get up front when you gas it. Its a cool sucking air sound. Throttle response is a good step up. Overall I am loving this intake. And yeh I got a lot of detailed pictures up. If you are going to do this mod you may want to look at it. Might save you some grief.

I just dont want to hinder the install in any way.. any advice would be great! also I looked into

I am not entirely sure if you can put a Volant filter on a stock tube. But check out this deal. It says there are 2 left in stock. And at a great price. You will get better results if you get the entire kit.

Re: Volant Cold Air Intake

My mistake guys , I thought just the box came in a package, i know see the box and the air tube are all in one. It was the ram air air tube that was sold seperate.

I assumed the engine compartment was still the same on the 08 models. I better do my homework and find out. I think I remember seeing a Ram Air tube for sale on the buy/sell forum this evening.

Re: Volant Cold Air Intake

I added the ram air to my volant CAI and did not notice much difference other than it being a little quieter under WOT. Any pressure boost is lost to the fender. I have considered making a flap or door to cover the fender intake if the ram air pressure was greater but have not tried it. Not worth the $100-120 in my opinion.

Re: Volant Cold Air Intake

Has anybody heard both Volant and AEM CAIs which one sounds better during high revs??? Is there a difference in sound between the plastic air tube on the Volant vs. the AEM aluminum tube??
I personally have the AEM CAI, love the sound/performance, but hate how dirty the engine compartment gets w/o the covered box.
I guess my point of my question is would the change from the AEM to the Volant be worth it just to keep the engine clean?? Would I still have the same sound/performance with the Volant? Or could I use the aluminum tube from the AEM and use the Volant airbox?

Sorry to be so long winded.
Thanks in advance
