Try the K&N filter after 10k miles for a good replacement. Then add a new exhaust replacing the Y-Pipe for less airflow restriction. Banks?

I'm trying to get a group purchase going for a bank system. The cost will be in the low 400's if I can manage it.

Funny how all of us have managed to spend $20K to $35K for a 15mpg vehicle and then many of us find it quite difficult justifying <$500 for this aftermarket add-on.
Too bad my dealer did not have a Banks installed on a demo when I bought this beast. Easier to mortgage it from the get go I guess - like the RF system. Or maybe it's just too hard for me to buy it without test driving it. Sound clips only go so far to convey the experience.
Hey Phil, when you get the Banks, drive it over here so I can hear it. OK?

I did the MOD to the STOCK air intake, The ONLY difference I have, is MORE INTAKE NOISE!!!!!!!! I have been Modifying cars, trucks for 35yrs. and RARELY does someone REALLY see an improvement in an Aftermarket intake or exhaust system!!!!! There are two possible reasons for this, 1. The products FLAT DONT DO WHAT THEY CLAIM!!! or, 2. The Performance or fuel economy is SO SLIGHT that when YOU drive around, you have your FOOT IN IT more often and the fuel mileage goes all to Hell!!! One last Possibility is that after spending 5-6-700 Hundred HARD EARNED DOLLARS, NO ONE wants to admit that THEY have thrown away so much and gotten SO LITTLE!!!!!! I REALLY WISH that someone would do an INDEPENDENT DYNO TEST!!!! ( the manufacturer testing is way to easy to munipulate!!!!

Your absolutely right. I did a independent dyno test. Unfortuantely
it was after I installed my Gibson Extreme. The cold raw #'s that I do have after the dyno are 339hp/396tq. I'm making 34 more flywheel HP and 17 more torqe than Nissan claims. Question is was I making more before the exhaust mod. 34 and 17 is quite a diff...

It's very possible, but every dyno is different

But still, it is possible to gain that much at the flywheel with the right exhaust system and intake

I just want maximum mpg's.......and can travel on highways at 58-60 mph which is the best way to get max mpg's.....I think the K&N's advantage is that it saves money for air filter replacements...but still takes 4-5 years to pay for itself..and you have to clean and wash and oil the thing.....then let it dry......I was told K&N filters are not for large engines like the Titan.as the intake will suck the oil and dust on the sensors etc..which may cause damage and innacurate fuel mixture from the computer system..so I have a K&N in the box it came in..and not in the air filter plenum box for now..until someone can quantify if it is worth using....and without changing the exhaust.
