fog lights

Anyone replace or install the fog lights in the bumper yet. I have an XE king cab that has the holes but no fog lights. Does anyone know if the wiring is there to make install easy and any reccomendations on aftermarket lights. Most bang for the buck under $200. ????

Or I can tell him my experience.

I have an SE that did not come with Fog Lights. I bought the Fog Light kit and installed it myself. The kit is available on either Courtesy Parts.com or NissanParts247.com. Everything is pre-wired, so all you need to do is remove the hole plugs, pop in the lights, secure them each with one screw, then install the turn signal switch that has the fog light switch on it. The instructions are self explanatory, and I had fun installing it; very simple.
Just FYI, the turn signal switch that came with mine also had the Auto light switch, but since I don't have the sensor, that function does not work.
I recommend the fog lights, since it looks better and provides better lighting at night.

Thanks for the info. The prewiring is my biggest concern. That means the install will be even more fun! (see difficult) This is something I have never done before but how hard can it be?? What comes with the fog light kit from Nissan? Is the wiring included?

The kit does not come with any wires or relays. It's meant only for SE's without the offroad package or 4x4 XE's. Any other models either have the fog lights already or are not compatible.

This does not mean that you can't install them on a truck that does not have the wireing, you will just have to get your own wires, relay, and switch.

The lights do not have a wire harness on them to splice into. The back of the light only has a stud for secureing the light to the bumper and a female plug for the factory wireing.

I installed them on my XE, and wired them to the accessory plug inside the cab. After an hour on the phone with a service rep, he convinced me that if I tried to wire into the wireing harness, it would affect the warranty.

Take a look behind the bumper underneath the truck. Its really easy to see if the wiring harness and stuff is already there. On my SE without fog lights the "pre-wiring" is already tapped to the mounting assembly where the fog lights should be. Hope this helps.

The wiring on XE's is pretty simple. You don't need a relay unless you want them to turn on with the headlights or something.
I installed mine using a fog lamp switch from an XTerra. It fits right into the punch-outs on the kick panel next to the steering wheel. You just run a positive fused wire to the battery and break the negative in the cab with a switch.

According to everything I have read, Yes.

Just to be sure, look for the plugs behind the bumper. They are right behind the flog light holes. You should see the plug held out of the way with some grey tape. I ordered mine from jaime at www.titanparts247.com. The instructions are very clear and easy.
