Apexi S-AFC or similar products

I used to drive an IS300, and i got an Apexi S-AFC for it. i had a shop tune it on the dyno and it yielded about a 10rwhp/8rwtq gain once tuned. most cars come from the factory running rich, and these devices can safely lean it out.

i was wondering if anyone has thought about this for the titan? would it work?

also...torque converters? anyone bought one with a higher stall speed? what would the effects be on the ride, the transmission etc

I don't see why you couldn't use an apexi s-afc. Its pretty generic the way it hooks up, would just need to find the correct leads to tap into at the computer. I think it would help alot with the titan espcially with intake and exhaust mods. You just need to have acsess to a dyno with a wide band 02 and somebody that knows how to tune it.

hmm...you have given me an idea here...time to start winning at online poker.

because the S-AFC does everything a programmer would, minus the speedo and rev limiter right?

all the afc would do is trick the computer into thinking it is seeing more or less air than it actually is, so that it would compensate accordingly. they are great for tuning especially after headers and exhaust, which generally make you run a bit more rich. it doesn't advance or retard timing.

i dont see why an afc wouldnt work on your truck. all it does is alter the voltage signal of the amount of air that is coming. you can probably lean it out just a little bit to yeild more power. if you get a higher stall converter, you'll get less gas mileage. the only thing that its good for is getting off the line in a hurry (dragracing). you'll probably need an extra tranny cooler to compensate for the extra heat you'll be adding to your tranny. if you are worried about fuel, and arent really a drag racer, imo there is absolutely no need for this thing.
