Volant Ram Air Scoop for LE

Has anybody got their Volant Ram Air Scoop yet for the Titan LE? If so... how's the fit and how long have you had it? Did you notice any performance improvement?

Getting really frustrated it been months and many promises.

Thanks for the help.

JMark

P.S. I know Joe's a nice guy ...

Joe emailed a week ago saying the mold has been completed and tested for the LE so it should be ready for us in a few weeks.

I will keep you posted as soon as I get the word they are available.

He also said that the caps for the air box are in, so they should be available for those who want to cap off the air scoop port.

I have been looking at Volant stuff since I bought my Titan several months ago. I have read and read and read, but just can't make up my mind. I am no sure what is what.

Isn't this the ram air scoop:
http://www.stillen.com/Supertrucks_d...d=43416&page=1

Is that an add-on in addition to the CAI here:
http://www.stillen.com/Supertrucks_d...d=43375&page=1

Could someone explain the difference between the two and which is which. Does anyone have both? Thanks.

The first one shows the CAI with the ram air scoop (elephant trunk) the second is just the CAI without the scoop.

pciley currently has both the CAI and the scoop. I am still waiting for the one to fit the SE/LE models.

Canman......I hope you don't order from these guy in your links. If you do decide on getting the Volant, you can get it a lot cheaper elsewhere. I just ordered mine from socalmotorsports.com on ebay for $267 w/ free shipping. May be even cheaper elswhere, but this was the best I found w/ free shipping.

A scoop will ALSO fit the SE if it is made for an LE, right? I am under the impression the bumpers are identical.
Keep in mind your driver's side tow hook has to be removed to install the ram-air tube.

Yah, lost mine after about 50-100 miles. Hit a pot hole and it was gone, could NOT stop on that road to get it, I'm sure it was crushed by my rear tire. I heard it dragging momentarily and then my rear end hopped up when I ran it over.

Joe was very sympathetic and helped me out with the second one after my sob story and having brought my truck to his shop for the box issues. I was very gracious to get a second one so now my clamps are tightened to about 100 ft-lbs
And the front of the scoop is attached with very short nuts and bolts to the bottom lip of the bumper (yes I had to drill two holes in the scoop). It shouldn't fall off this time.

BTW, the RAM Air scoop will RUB on your tires at full right if you have the PRG spacers... I like the spacers too much, so the scoop's gonna get ground down a bit.

What are the differences in the XE versus the LE/SE under the hood that requires seperate airboxes?
