I took the KN airfilter off my lightning, 12 inch cone, cut between sensor and air box ,and just tighten it down, it seems to make a difference. It bearly fits between the sensor and the fender. i will take pics
I am using the AEM Brute Force Intake. The quality can't be beat and it looks great. I will be posting pictures as soon as I get my truck back from having the exhaust put on. I am running a custom stainless exhaust system.
Don't forget, Flowmaster now has a bolt on cat back system available for the Titan. Comes with the 70 series muffler. A little pricey, but they offer two different exit styles side or out the back. I called them and they said the side exit does not interfer with the lock box.

LE Canteen Crew, 4X4, BT, OR to which I added: SS Brake Lines, Advanced Folding K-Cover ,SS Lund deflector, Black Prism DunderDan grill (I hope it's coming soon), 4" Prerunner Greg Performance Lift, The first Zoomers SS exhaust ever shipped, Volant Gen III CAI, and Chick's Hulk engine cover, custom A-pillar with 1in guages (coming soon).
As Money Allows: Nismo Headers, Dynatech 2.25" Powercats (Damn Missouri and your air quality) Osirus, Trutrac, Stillen (sway bar, big brakes, diff cover), and PrerunnerTraction Bars.
K & N AirCharger & Banks here....I installed the intake 1st which was a little loud without an exaust. Banks raps a little under heavy throttle. I love them both....

To anyone who is thinking about using the Volant I highly recommend modifying (aftermarket or custom) the exhaust. To do only one is limiting the positive effects and gains you could achieve. This is a opinion that I can site several examples off myself being the most obvious of course.
After extensive testing( dynoing) I gained 14.375 rwhp = 17.96 bhp
41.155 rwtq = 51.443 btq adding the Volant to an aftermarket exhaust.
This combo of Gibson Extreme and Volant has my HP in the 345 and 427 torque range with a 25% drive train loss for a 4wd. Pretty significant imho.
That's 40 more HP than Nissan's claimed 305 Hp and 48 more torque than the 379 base rating. Having said this I didn't dyno until AFTER the Gibson exhaust mod so I can't say for certain those are the truthfully gains.
I can site truthful gains of the Volant however and have...
I have a feeling from others that have dynoed stock that I may have been a little more than what Nissan claims. Just a thought. You can make up your own mind, all I know is what I got now is pretty nice having all that torque at my disposal
I'd like to see more dyno's(SAE OF COURSE) of these mods...

Absolutely Awesome--thanks For The Instense Research. Did You Remove The Resonators? How Loud Is That Combination? Anythng You Would Like To Have Done Differently? Merry Christmas!

Wats going on samauri1,
Thanks, it's truly been a quest and it seems I've got something pretty good to work with...
Yes I removed the resonators or shall I say resonator that came on the catback exhaust. Replaced it with a 3" straight pipe. Do I think it helped in the performance area? I do however it seems with the removal of the resonator there is a more noticeable popping sound now. You really don't hear it until 3/4 to full throttle and with the windows open. It's not as bad when it heats up too. I've read others with other systems having this problem. I guess this engine is such a "Beast" it's hard to find that balance of performance and sound properties.
The overall loudness to me wasn't to my surprise. I expected it to be louder. I will admit that was my major motivation in removing the res. In doing so it seemed to have maximized the performance and made it LOUDER...
I must add with the addition of the Volant it pretty much overrides the popping sound with the "Sonic Ferociousness" sound of the Endurance compliments of the Volant. The overall sound to me is better ( much deeper tone and throatier sounding.
Since I know now this combo is a proven performance winner in my situation I would do it again.
Happy Holidays
