Re: Consolidation of mods, dynos, and track times

I took the V8 Pathfinder to the track yesterday and was seriously impressed with the 5.6 Titan motor. The SUV doesn't feel all that quick because the auto tranny shifts so smoothly. I was expecting a 15.5 or 15.3 at the very best. Here's my 2 quickest runs:

Reaction 0.830 0.521 (all runs on a 0.500 light)
60 ft 2.202 2.177
mid mph 73.05 72.00
660 et 9.585 9.611
1/4 mph 91.09 90.00
1/4 et 14.980 15.062

The quickest was the first run of the day with a cool engine. Once it got heat soaked, it ran consistently in the high 15.0x. So consistent, in fact, that I won the event. Woo hoo!! First time out in the Pathfinder too. Most peeps were surprised with the speed of the big SUV.

All runs were made in Auto All-Mode 4WD with VDC off. I tried it in 2WD with VDC off on the street and it would just spin the tires. With VDC on, it would lag as soon as it detected slip. I was having some trouble with the vehicle response. This drive by wire thing took a little time to figure out as you can see by my reaction times. I found my best launches using the stomp and go method. Pre-loading makes for a laggy start (2.2x 60 fts compared to high 2.1x 60 fts).

My Pathfinder is supposed to be 5000 lbs. It's quite a bit quicker than my old 99 4Runner (auto) with TRD supercharger. The Pathfinder is really laggy off the line, though. I'm waiting for UpRev to get on the 08 ecus. I'm hoping an ecu tune up will fix the lag. The 4Runner felt loads quicker on the launch. I raced my friend (03 SC Taco manual) with both my SUVs. I beat him off the line with the 4Runner, but not with the Pathfinder.

Re: Consolidation of mods, dynos, and track times

Yeah, I read about that. That's why I can't wait until UpRev is able to do 08 ecus. Even with me not getting WOT, the Pathfinder is able to spin the tires. That amazed me. I wanna see how hard it'll spin when UpRev tuned.

Re: Consolidation of mods, dynos, and track times

so i had my truck dyno'd before i have any modifiactions done....needless to say that the tech that took care of me knows tons more than i do....he sent me home with a sheet [ the STD version ], but before i posted it i had him send me a few more views and the other runs for more accurate comparison....as seen from my sig this is a 2008 2wd cc on stock tires and rims, running 87 octane with 2950 miles on it with 1 oil change [ mobil 1 5w-30 ] under its belt....within the next few months my plans are to add an Injen CAI, Airaid TBS, and do the magnaflow 18" muffler swap keeping the stock pipes....i'd love to hear lots of comments and critiques
