Well after doing some digging through the 350Z stuff, it looks like a real speed limiter for the CAN system cars is out and should be stateside soon. I don't know if this particular one will work on the Titan but since it works on the 350Z, I would imaging it either would or they know how to make one. It is made by HKS. I went to their website and they don't have it on there as of yet www.hksusa.com
By the way, doing a currency conversion this puppy is only $536 US..... And that's all it does. I think I can wait for something else (read: I am cheap). The Technosquare guys are thinking about doing some Titan stuff in the future for ECM flashing.

Reason: :)
Look at the part descriptions - the type I is for manual transmissions, type 2 is for autos but both of these are for systems that you can directly wire into the speed sensor wire. As mentioned before, we have the CAN system and those won't work - the one for the 350Z has the same set-up (Type 3) so it would either work with no changes or they may have to make others, I don't know. I cannot find any HKS dealers that even show the Type 3, so we're going to have to wait a little while.

Well I hope it doesn't come in for the titan. Don't know how fast you want to go in a truck, that is so high off the ground. All that air trapped underneath can be ugly.
Anyone live close to Torrance, CA?? I was at the Technosquare site today, and the Titan is #2 on their priority list for "New Application Release Schedule". They are looking for a test ecu for a Titan. If I was close, I'd be checking this out, but I wouldn't want to remove the ecu and ship it out to them and wait for them to crack the security seed to access the programming...lol...too risky for me! Maybe not a big deal for them since they've apparently done this on other Nissans like the 350Z where I imagine the programming, maps, etc are similar.

Thanks for the support... I'm sure others here appreciate that.
The reason I want mine it to run smaller tires at the track so the speed limiter doesn't come on due to a large speedo error. I have no intentions of trying to go 150mph or anything like that. Maybe you should consider what people are trying to do without damning the technology.

That limiter remover would also let you dyno in 4th gear and tell us if these engines can produce a little more power than is showing up in the lower gear ranges. Whacha think?

I agree, you would then be able to dyno in 4th, but I wouldn't want to do it with stock rear tires due to the speed rating. You'll see a little more of the low-end, but to see the high end in 4th, look how fast these trucks will be doing on the dyno:
2.94 ratio:
3-4 shift at WOT happens between 110-116
4-5 shift at WOT happens between 155-161
3.36 ratio:
3-4 shift at WOT happens between 95-102 mph
4-5 shift at WOT happens betwee147-153 mph

Head....sure you can't just "jump" that puppy out....lol!
I love most of this new technology stuff, but I must admit to missing the old days where if you wanted to eliminate a device on any equipment you simply wired around it. Now days we're at the mercy of programming engineers to crack codes and backward engineer devices to be able to do simple, logical things.
These newer vehicles are so similar to the HVAC systems I work on every day, and like automobiles, the industry has changed so much over the last 22 yrs I've been in it. A complex marriage of bits, bytes and bolts!! Complex, yes, but fun and challenging too.
Thanks!
Steve
