More food for thought - Vortech timing box

This is the install manual for the Vortech superchargers on the 350Z (and G35). Of note they have a box that apparently retards the timing. Page 10 of the document shows the wiring diagram for it. As I had suspected, there is nothing wired into the harness for the coils per-se. This is more or less going to be the same for the Titan so the usual MSD box(es) aren't going to work. Pretty neat how they did it - see for yourself.

Looks like your typical piggy back system.
And therefore, it probably comes with the typical problems you get when you use a piggy back system on an modern adaptive ECU. The ECU eventually ends up learning around it and you run into problems. Piggy back type systems are only good on old, much dumber ECU's which I'm hoping Nissan didn't stick us with. Either a complete ECU reflash or going stand-alone are the only "good", totally safe methods. But obviously, stand-alones are much more complicated and expensive, and there's probably no good way to do custom reflashes yet.
