titan tow mode

I read in a past post that you cant use the tow mode with a column shifter in manual shift mode for people trying to tow in 4th gear.

but my car will let me use tow mode if i push tow mode button first then switch to manual mode..

just want to make sure im using tow mode right. my tow mode button lights up and i push manual shift and switch to 4th gear for towing

thanks

Mine is the same.

I have to push tow mode first, then turn off the overdrive.

Thumbs up

Same here.....push tow/mode button first and then you can shift to any gear you want including overdrive.

It shouldnt since it only holds shifts longer at partial throttle. At the track, you are going WOT and it will shift at redline no matter the mode.

None. I have tried this on and off several times as my mods have progressed.

My dealer e-mailed a "how do you like your new truck-any questions" diatribe to which I inquired, " can you manually shift a console equippied gated style shifter?" The response was the sound of crickets. Thanks, dealerguy!!!!!!!!
So, is it the same as a colunm shift equipped manual mode persons?

According to the service manual, the manual mode in the column shifter works similarly to the gated console shifter. However, I wouldnt manually shift for everyday driving (too much heat and wear on the tranny), just when the situation warrants it per the owners manual (hills, towing, etc).
