K&N Systems or the Volant???

I'm in the Banks System group buy. I also want to get an air intake system. Can someone explain what's the difference between the K&N 77 series air intake kit and the K&N AirCharger Performance Kit?

Also which would work better, one of these K&N products or the Volant system that's on the group buy? I have an SE and read on another thread that there maybe a problem with the Volant system on the SE and LE trucks?

The only problem specific to the SE/LE with the Volant was the Ram Air Scoop. One made to fit the SE/LE is due out sometime next week.

Thanks for the update 37L1.

Do you know anything about the two K&N systems?

I see you have the Volant, have you experienced any problems?

The Volant and the K&N are different makes of the same thing. Go with either based on looks, price, whatever.

The difference between the K&N Air charger and the 77 series is cosmetic. The 77 series is dressed up a bit. I personally have the Air Charger kit and I am very pleased with it. Very noticeable gain in acceleration, and adds a meaner growl to the engine noise. Now I just need to add the Banks.......

Hey Blaster, thanks for the input....

I've been leaning towards the K&N even though the group buy has been for the
Volant system. I think I'll go down to Hopup Racing this week and pick there
brain too.

I'm on the second wave for the group Banks buy. I can't wait since this will be
my first mod.

Unhappy Warranty Issues with K&N

Anyone have any idea how this mod (full air charger) would affect the vehicle warranty? I tried contacting the dealer but was met with static and no straight answer.
I had the K&N on my 97 f-150 that I retired for this much superior truck!

Thanks!~

asked dealer about voiding warrenty, and they told me only the MAF sensor if it ever goes bad due to over oiling
the 77 version of the k&n has a polished intake tube, not a black plastic one
