Perfect answer no they are Variable timing cam sporockets that change the timing depending on the demand like vtec really cool the VQ series engines have them i'm not sure what the% is but ut works great!!! hey what happened to my avatar?

The 4.5 V8 engine also has varaible valve timing, which the 5.6 is based on. The 4.5 also has titanium intake valves in addtion, both together yield a redline of 6700 RPM and 330hp in the Q45. The 5.6 is tuned more for low end torque, so I guess they decided against the variable valve timing.

right on, I know what VTEC is, I used to drive a civic. LOL
Let me explain if I may:
On a single OHC VTEC engine there are three lobes for each cylinder on the cam shaft. there is one rocker arm for each lobe, but only two valves. I believe the Honda SOHC VTEC uses two intake rockers and one exhaust rocker. Anyway the exhaust rocker is opening and closing every time it is bumped by it's lobe and actuates the exhaust valve according to that cam lobe.
The intake rockers are each opening at different lift and duration but only one is connected to the intake valve at low rpms. At low rpms the short lift/long duration rocker is actuating the intake valve, then at a certain engine speed a solenoid in the head throws a pin through both intake rockers fusing them togethor. As a result the intake rocker is forced to ride up as far as the "dummy rocker" and stay open until the "dummy rocker" lets it back down. Since an engine produces more torque at high rpms with a higher lift and shorter duration and more torque at lower rpms with a short lift and longer duration the VTEC engine has a broader torque curve.
And that is why our trucks would be even cooler with VTEC (or VTC)

We have in house training on nissan products and there was a rep that stopped by pretty neat guy anyhow we were talking about r&d and whats to come he stated that nissan has 5.6's pumping out 600+ now I don't know if it was s charged or turbo but looking at things like the 6 bolt mains should keep it together under some pretty good boost...

750UNDERINVOICE-are you new-nissans.com??

$750underinvoice,are you new-nissans.com? Or are you the old dealership they worked thru before they switched to the other dealership.
This isn't just curiosity;I had emailed Adam Smith(seemed like a nice guy) several months back about a XE CC side curtains.Well,I wasn't ready to dump my 2004 XE KC side curtains, but it is still crossing my mind(a 2005).
So,I am wondering- who are you-I'm a bit confused?Are your prices $750 under invoice(-rebate,of course)?Are you new-nissans.com?Isn't your address-Bremerton- the old dealereship address?Thanks.Charlie

New nissans was the salesmanager that formerly worked with us at Advantage Nissan in Brem wa He moved to an alternate dealership to be closer to his family. But because it was his site he changed his affilation to the local dealer No big deal Good guy and understable change, anyhow Adam is no longer with us. I can't officialy advertise or i guess talk about what we offer Ie my avatar got pulled and probably this post too but hey I'm more than willing to buck up to make it a ok with the moderators and admin folk...
But yes competition and being aggressive is a-ok plus i'm thinking about starting a thread seeing what is a fair and acceptible profit on a vehicle retailed just because I would like some honest feed back...
