opinion: fowmaster 50 or 70?

hi-

I'm looking to replace my stock muffler with a flowmaster, to get a little deeper rumble out of the exhaust. I'm concerned a little about drone in the cabin... any out there with either muffler? how about the sound---drone between the two. heard the 50 is a little louder, but how does it compare with stock upon accel. and hwy speed?

thanks!

I'm not sure if this will help but you can check out mine, I have a sound clip if you scroll down the page there are 2 diffrent sound bytes, one while the truck is idle and the other while driving bye. I have had some people in the back seat but not one complaint about the sound of the muffler, and that includes my 69 year old mother(well maybe we wont count her..she could be losing her hearing)and mine is a dual in dual out 40 series flowmaster.

I've got the 70 series and am very pleased with the tone. It can drone pretty bad @60mph, so drive faster.

The 70 series has really grown on me. I am very happy with the sound. Personally I have my music up pretty high when I am at highway speeds, so the drone is a non-factor to me. With the music off the drone is really not that bad with the 70. The 50 is supposed to be louder. I would imagine the drone would be worse with the 50.

I have the Flowmaster kit with the 70 series 3" in and dual 2.5" out. Between 50-60mph the drone is the worst but not a problem. I would expect the 50 to be pushing my limits but would love to hear it.

I did not get the best price, but here is my write up from another post that I replied to back in Sept. I bought the muffler, X pipe, and tips off the internet for about $200 total and the install cost $350 for a total of $550. Here is my old post:

Update:

It's installed. I've been busy so it took 4 weeks to me to get around to it. This is my first exhaust other than factory on any vehicle I have ever owned. It's definately louder, but sounds very cool. I think I got bent over by the installer. He charged me about $350 to install the system. This included all the pipes and hangers except for the X pipe, tips and the Flowmaster 70 which I bought on my own. The whole job cost me $550.

You should check out all the information on Sammie Sandbags legandary post that started last April. I installed the same system he did and I love it. Flowmaster Dual Pipes

I have the 50 on my truck. I just had the resonaters taken off. I gives it more of a race car sound. It has more rasp than it did. Still nice and mello on the freeway.
