Question Just need some opinions on dual exhaust

I am going to have my exhaust done tomorrow and I can't decide if the exhaust should go out the side (passenger side in front of rear tire) or straight out the back. BTW, this will be a true dual exhaust. Cost is not a factor in this either.
Want to hear the why’s or why not for both ways.

Thanks in advance for your opinions!!!

Performance-wise, it won't matter. But if you tow, it's recommended to exit out the sides instead of out back. This is mainly to prevent exhaust build-up on whatever you're towing.

I say put it out the sides before the rear wheels if it doesn't interfeer with the nerf bars if you have/will get them.

I went with the Stainless Oval Tips out of the back to give it a different look. But now Im switching them to the side because I tow a boat and when Im hooking it up I feel like Im just breathing all exhaust.....

exhaust nightmare

I would go out the side, the problems with going dual (trust me I know).
True dual:
there will be a problem with routing around the gas tank, you have to be really careful with the gas tank because it's plastic and will warp/melt very easily.
Feux dual: (single in dual out muffler)
routing the exhaust pipe to the drivers side is a migrane, you have to go up and over the rear diff. the problem with this is you will only have about 3" of space between the diff and the pipe, also it runs dangerously close to the rubber lines that belong to the limited slip. Also, you have to worry about the spare tire because it doesn't sit centered it's more to the drivers side.
I just went througha very painful exhaust swap, I tried going with the magnaflow, but it just will not work, and will probably damage the truck, I'm now going to a flowmaster single in dual out muffler with a non split dual pipe, i.e. there will be two pipes going side by side out the passenger side. Hope this helps.

Good luck getting it to come out in front of the rear tires with your crew cab. I wanted to do this, but there just isn't enough room for 1 pipe much less 2 between the cab and fender well. (don't see any way to route one past the gas tank to go out driver's side) The main problem if you go ahead and put 1 there is that the exhaust will be piped out right next to the passenger rear door. This means if anyone is getting in/out while the truck is running, they will be very close to the tail pipe and also exhaust can easily blow into the cab through the open door. Of course if you don't care about this at all, then I say go for it because I think it looks sweet.

Thanks for all the advise. I ended up going straight out the back for the exact reason HavockWK decsribed. I am extremely happy with it.
I just posted a thread with pics. Take a look.
