My banks monster old and new

I love my banks but that megaphone tip is just too big and ugly for my taste. I ordered a 3" ID x 3.5" OD x 12" resonated tip from banks, and relocated the exit to the front of the rear tire. Sounds quieter and less drone at cruising speed. Im a happy camper.

Please post some pics of how everything looks under the truck so we can see what you did to allow for the new exit location. I really want mine to exit there, but it is impractical for family use because it is too close to the CC rear door. I also want dual tips coming out, but there isn't enough room on the CC either.

No offense, but I don't get it. Why'd you move it? Aren't you afraid of getting smoke on your tire?

coach, i plan on lowering the truck 2"/4" in the near future. had to do some relocating. there is about 6-8" gap between the tire and tip, and about that smoke getting on the tire and rim, i got 2 lil mini me to shine my chrome..LOL

havoc, the shop had to move the canister about 5" forward to make room for the 90* 3" tubing and tip to bolt on the rear exit of the canister. New hanger bracket was also welded and hooked up to the existing rubber mounts. its actually a lot quieter than the megaphone tip, my kids dont complain.

It's not bad, but it looks alittle lonely and out of place there. All the front exit(Nascar/truck style) systems I've seen have dual tips. Just my thoughts though.

I got a 3" inlet/outlet slash cut rolled edge polished stainless tip from Summit for $22. Going to have the megaphone cut off the and the new put on there. That big huge coffee can just looks to ricer to me, and the drone from 16-1900 is a little annoying.

I love the exhaust though. Far quiter and much less drone than the Magnaflow I had on my Dakota. Really deep sound, no pops or burbles and not raspy. Great fit and finish as well.

Nice! I too am debating whether to change tips. I have only found a handful of 4" inlet tips on some diesel sites (but they all have 5"out) that dont look that great...

Got to cut off the short 3" to 4" flair where the megaphone clamps on.

I'm just afraid that if I route my exhaust in front of the rear tire ....

That the flames coming out of my tail pipe might set my tire on fire ....

how much? my the custom tips i got are rusting in the inside, and wont last too long i'm guessing.

i'll probably have to get new tips with i get the exhaust spread out to fit my hitch.

how long are they also. i'd want at least 18", 21" would be better.
