Exhaust Indecisiveness

Wow---the Banks exhaust seems to be the way to go, but im almost dead set on having a dual exhaust. I really like the Banks system, but the single exhaust just isnt gonna cut it for me. Does any one have any suggestions for quality dual exhaust cat backs??

If you want dual...I would go with Sammy Sandbags setup..do a search...nice piece of work on his.

Personally I love the Banks...it was exactly what we were looking for.

A good cross-over but maybe more expensive would be to see if you could just get a Banks and 'redo' from after the muffler out to duals...that would be unique!

The Banks is awesome! Having raced motorcycles most of my life....I was afraid the Banks wouldn't do the job to my level of satisfaction. I didn't just want a loud pipe.

The Banks was all that and a bag of Jellybeans. Sound is perfection! I HAVE a noticable increase in fuel economy, even though I am goosing it around more, and the truck has more romp when gettin' on it. I can't wait to get the CAI on to further enhance the system.

I was hung up on the dual until I trusted my gut and went with the Banks. You seem to be doing the same thing....you gut is saying Banks but your ego is saying "I need duals". GO with the gut, dude....get the Banks and be very happy you did.

Mine's been on two weeks. I did NOT reset the ECU by disconnecting the battery. I let it relearn and just this week, the performance and fuel effiencies are really dialing in.

PS...I am in no way connected with an ability to profit from you buying a Banks. Just a satisfied customer that couldn't imagine anything else.....and I've seen a few others on Titan's .

PSS...I wrote this response BEFORE reading the entire thread....so, I hope I am not repeating the same reply over and over.

Here is the Sammie Sandbag post. I installed virtually the same set up and it's great.

If you can BRING yourself to get a single, get the BANKS!..It is a really nice system, and the dual options are the Gibson which is ok to some people I guess and the Borla, which is wayyyyy overpriced

Yes, Sammy has a very nice custom exhaust. If you're more interested in a bolt on dual exhaust then add the Flowmaster cat-back kit to your list. Here's my thread about mine: Flowmaster Installed - video & sound clips

I have dual MagnaFlow wide open series which is a muffler that has no chambers. The exhaust goes straight through no restriction. Everyone compliments me for having the best exhaust they have ever heard. I have duals straight out the back and it only cost me $295 for a custom install. If you want a great sound and want people to actually hear you when you come by get the Magna flow single in dual out exhaust. I have compared my exhaust to the banks and flowmasters to some fellow Titan owners and I had the better sound and loudness than both of them. Let me know what you decide to do.

Thumbs up The Gibson Side Swept System

Gibson Side Swept Cat Back System Read my past post on this link Re: The Gibson Side Swept single exhaust system. Just hitting 8,000 miles and have no complaints other than I would not mind if it was tad bit louder. The company that shipped it along with the price was fantastic. Take your time in searching and good luck.

straight pipes....

Thanks for all the help and suggestions everyone. I've seen many set ups that i was really impressed with. Im not sure if that has helped me or not, though. Now im contemplating just going straight pipes off the cats, no muffler at all. That is what i have on my 4.3L S10 and it sounds great. You wouldn't believe how many people turn their heads as i rumble by in my little S10 (and i did say rumble---because it actually sounds so damn good, not obnoxious). Still not so sure on that idea though. That 339 endurance engine compared to the smaller 262 may not react the same to the same straight-out setup. Thoughts and suggestions on this would be helpful. Thanks again!!

I too plan on going straight pipes duals with an x-pipe following the stock route with dual tips dumping to the side. I had ran my truck without the muffler for a weekend to see what it was like and I loved the sound so now im just waitin for a friend of mine to get his shop open

I've got the Banks and LOVE IT. The big 5" tip is still growing on me, but I've got a 3" rolled slant cut waiting to go on if the urge arises. It's a big truck, so a big tip doesn't look too out of place. The sound is REALLY nice, no burble or popping or raspiness. My last truck had a Magnaflow, and they thing would pop and burp it's way back to idle from WOT.

I like the looks of a dual exhaust, but I think that wouldn't give enough back pressure. I figure a nice SS single side is the best way to go, it is how Nissan designed it.
