Banks good.
Drone @1700, not so good.
Sound @WOT, really good.
Dynamat in doors, drone @ 1700, less bad.
Tip big, but truck big too, so OK.
Banks group buy @ $400, good.
HP, feels up, tires spin mo easy.
MPG, +1, good.
Children and old ladies, scare with Banks, good.
Great sound, make exhaust tip a 3.5" , and get rid of 1700 rpm drone=best ever.
That is all.

Hello ya'll.

I've done some searching, heard opinions, and think I'm close to having my mind made up in regards to the exhaust system...or maybe I haven't.

I'm looking at the Banks exhaust w/o the 5 inch tip (seems to be cause overly noise problems) and add a 3 inch tip or should I just go with a Gibson cat-back exhaust system Swept or Dual Sport (knowing the difference is basically cosmetic).

Question...is it worth the extra 80-100 bucks more for me to go with the Banks system over Gibson? Am I just paying a little more for the aggressive tone of the exhaust?

I put a 3.5" tip on my Banks and the drone at 1700 is still there, but just slightly less loud. It was actually too quiet when I took off the tips.

I guess I must be going def cuz the drone doesn't bother me at all. I thought it was gonna be really bad on the freeway but I guess the drone gets drowned out by all the other road noise that's goin on.

Overall, I love my Banks, great power, great sound, slightly better mpg. I wouldn't change a thing.

I thought my Banks was loud until I took a ride in my old 99 Dakota with a Magnaflow exhuast, free flow cat, and JBA ceramic coated headers. I forgot how loud it really was, I thought the back sliding window was open! My Titan with the Banks is MUCH quieter. No complaints here. They both sound good and about equally loud at WOT, but the Titan is MUCH quieter on the inside and at idle.

I was one of the first with the Banks exhaust and although I like the quality and fit of the kit, for me, it is just too loud with excessive drone in the 1500 to 2000 RPM range. I have replaced the 5 inch tip with a 3 inch rolled edge Magnaflow and that made a big difference. I have a Spintech muffler coming that I am going to try and hopefully that will give me the improved performance that I enjoy with the Banks without the drawbacks.

Well engineered, easy to install, looks great, sounds great, trucks more responsive. The only hind sight is "why did I wait so long to get a system?"

Keep us posted Earl, took mine off to put it back on, to... what? Just wish it was not quite so loud. I'm changing out the tip this time to see how it goes.

Since this post has the Banks Owners' attention thought I'd ask if anyone had soundclips w/ the 3.5 in tip and with the original.

Thanks
