Ran the 1/4!!!

went to Houston raceway sat. in my titan. Only got to run 2 runs because they were doing some bracket racing. 1st run was a 16.3 with a .2XX reaction and a 2.9 60 ft. because i had traction problems off the line. But i still beat a dodge dakota, not an R/T but he had a v8 and ran a 20.0 LMAO . 2nd run was a 15.355 with a reaction of .173 and a 2.1 60 ft at 90.08 mph . Oh and it was perfect i beat a double cab hemi on the second run with my girl in the stands. he ran a 15.9. Anyway if your wondering my truck is an 04 KC 2wd, Mods=one single 24inch glass pack (probably hurting me) K&N FIPK @ 20's with 275/45/20's probably also hurting me. Oh and i had about 3 1/2 gallons of 104 race gas and 3 gallons of 93. Any input appreciated ...

happy titaning
chad

Awesome job! I wonder if you could've reached into the 14's if you had smaller wheels on there. Do you have the lower gear (Big Tow) ratio on your KC?

Finnatic is running mid 14's with just an exhaust and CAI. Amazing. If/when the "secrets" to the ECU are unlocked, maybe we'll see some very low 14's (perhaps a 13.99?) out of these trucks N/A. There has to be at least few tenths tied up in ECM tuning alone.

Keep up the good work!

Show me the timeslip. No offense to Finnatic, but I've been pretty quiet on the g-tech threads, but I really don't think he's running 14.6s.

Nice runs! 15.3 is pretty good considering the mods.

I ran 15.357 at 89.77 with my CC Titan at Hallsville Dragstrip Friday on regular gas. I don't think the race gas helps any if you don't have the engine tuned for it, I know on my motorcycle, it slows down on race gas, and I have tried everthing from 105 to 116, and I am running 13.5 to 1 compression and 40 degrees total advance on ignition timing.
Congrats on beating the Dodge Hemi.

i dont think the race gas helped me either i sure do like the way it smells though. I think i am going to go again next weekend and this time put my stock rims and tires on in the back. I will also probably take off my spare too.

Race fuel wont do anything for you on a stock motor...it'll slow you down if anything.

why is that is it because it doesnt have high enough compression to burn all the fuel right?

I used to run the street ET class but they do nothing about teching or enforcing rule violations. I even got CD to walk with me in the staging lanes and pointed out blatant stuff and he didn't care. I have no use for that series anymore.

Gee, I don't sound too bitter do I?

Yeah..You got part of it right. The higher the octane # the slower that fuel burns and the more resistant it will be to detonation. Compression, timing, temperatures, load etc etc all play a part in what kinda fuel you are able to run without detonation.

Running 100+ octane fuel in a motor thats tuned for/runs fine on 87 is pretty much pissing your money down the toilet. Using a power adder like nitrous or boost changes what kind of octane you should be running...but intakes and exhausts normally wont.

Like you said it wont burn the fuel efficiently which at worst is crappy performance/mileage. Its not gonna hurt anything but if you like throwing money away...Ive got an account you can wire it to.

I know a few guys on here say they feel a power difference between 87 and 91/93 but I dont, so I use 87. Its your perogative in the end I guess.

I've been running Street ET and Pro ET for a long time, 12 years, On a bracket race, the more they do to them, the less consistant the bike becomes. If it is street legal, DOT tire and all, it's legal for street et.
We are having a lot of E, No-E up here. As long as you don't have a race computer, you can run No-E.

Dang it head... you forced me to tell my secret, I put that tornado in and didn't tell anybody and it gave me and extra 50 horses I swear. The G-Tech said so.

Then I put that high speed wax on and it gave me better drag coefficiency and took off 5 tenths. I swear...the G-tech said so

Nice run ChadEberly,

Not bad at all with 20's...

I was wondering about potential traction problems. I'm going to lock em in anyway just to be safe and hope I don't exceed the recommend speed the manual states in 4wd. "Speeds of 62.5 mph is not recommend."
