Looking for exhaust for 2005 XE

I want an exhaust and have been reading the posts. I am lost, I do not understand the terms like Drone, etc. Can anyone give me a run down on the terms and what to look for and lookout for?

What you want to avoid is any sort of resonance in the exhaust. A well designed exhaust system will minimize resonance that can occur in a narrow RPM band. Unfortunately this usually happens at a point in the RPM band of the engine that corresponds to where you will be at when traveling at highway speeds. Hours upon hours of an annoying resonance while cruising at 70 MPH will quickly make you regret your decision. Another problem that you may experience is a raspiness at a certain RPM spot. You probably won't get this if you keep the cats but if you went to a full offroad exhaust setup it would be almost guaranteed.

The problem is that everyone here has different tastes and tolerances so it is difficult to be sure that when someone says there is no droan or rasp that they are giving an accurate assessment.

Banks goes from the cat back. Gibson, magna flow, and jardine start after the cross over pipe. I called banks and talked to a tech, after changing everything it dynos out at only a 9 horse power gain. 9 horse power for $600 plus installation, not worth it. I'm just going to go with a flowmaster and a K&N 77 series intake kit part number 77-6012kp(17 horse power)

Actually, that's incorrect. The Gibson is a cat back, it includes a new cross over pipe. I'm pretty sure they are all actually. Also, the Banks seems to have the most drone out of the others from what others have said. I have the Gibson and it is perfect. It's loud when you floor it and no drone at all. It sounds just a little bit louder than stock when cruising at highway speeds. You can't go wrong with the Gibson.
