Talking Gibson Installed!

Well, after having the box in my garage for a week, I finally had installed the Gibson Dual Sport system. I'll that I can say is THIS Fu$&ING ROCKS! I love the deep rumble. The drone is almost completely gone at cruising speeds and at low RPM's while driving in the neighborhood, the rumble is great!

Right after we were done, I took it off of the rack and took a "ride" down the street. The first time I jumped on it, I heard cracking, which I am not really fond of, and then 5 minutes later...no more cracking. The only thing that I may do is take the resonator off. I am going to wait a week first.

Thanks QUIKWHIP! Without seeing the system on your truck, I would not have known what to do.

Very cool! Glad it worked out for you! I also noticed the little bit of cracking/poping on the maiden voyage but it has never done it since then. As for removing the resonator, that will give you the raspy/cracking/poping sound your trying to avoid. But hey, it can't hurt to try it. You can always put it back in. Now, how bout some pics!!!!

It depends on how you look at that. On 4x4 Titans there are 4 cats, on 4x2 models there are 2 cats and 2 resonators. The Gibson replaces the Y pipe and back.

Thanks for the info, I am goig to the muffler shop to have the resonator removed, I feel that they are the restriction in the exhaust. I have the Flomaster dual out, but would like to go with a new system, still researching whats out there

I've been looking at getting a Gibson side swept exhaust. Just wondering if the replacement would be a bolt-on job I could do myself in the garage, or is welding required? (I would definately need a muffler shop for the latter) I would appreciate any info on this.

You have a 4x4 right? Than those two that look like resonators are actually cats. I don't know why they do that but they do.

I just got in my Gibson swept side yesterday, and am planning on do it today after work, did you run into any gotchas doing it your self?

Thanks in advance

it helps to have have someone push from the rear when you start tightening the u-clamps. this is so you can get all the joints slid together about 2 inches. don't forget to put the ground strap back on on the drivers side front connection. juma
