Borla Cat-back on its way!

Well, I shelled out more than I planned and ordered the Borla cat-back from TruckPerformance.com. $880 shipped to my office...ouch! Oh well, its only money and you can't take it with you (and every other make me feel better cliche). Hopefully its worth it.

Is it Stainless? I'd like to see some pic and sound when you get it installed.

Yup, its stainless. Aircraft quality T-304 stainless to be exact. I'll be sure to post pics when it arrives. Sorry but I don't have any way to post a sound clip.

Sound!

Can't wait to hear the sound on this! Hopefully the dreaded drone is not bad. Or will it be as loud as the banks????

beakerstoy,

Did your Borla come in yet? I'm about to order exhaust again and if Borla is caught up I'd like to try again. Thanks.

what happened to your original order?

and dont take all these $800 shocker comments negatively.

for a quality, long-lasting product, that is more than worth it. you should never have to or want to replace this system once it comes in. And after a few years, if you dont like it, the resale should still be good since it comes with Borla's 1 million mile warrenty.

Try reselling one of those $400 flowmaster systems unless it's still in the box, unused, you wont get jack for that.

Cost isn't a concern. Yeah, I don't like paying more than I have to if the product is worth it its not a problem.

I cancelled my original order because I waited a month before they told me it was on backorder for another 6 weeks. So I said forget it and got my money back. So, before I order again I want to make sure I don't have to wait a month or two again.

I'm considering the Stillen exhaust (the single side exit) also. I know it does not replace the factory wye pipe but I spoke with the guys at Stillen and they said after repeated dyno runs the wye pipe didn't make enough of a difference to warrant the added expense. Anyone have the Stillen and care to comment?

My first system was 3" from the stock Y pipe to a Flowmaster 3" in dual 2 1/2" out. It sounded great, no improvement in performance or gas mileage. Ordered Magnaflow 304 Stainless system 3" in and 3" out, and Banks 3" Y pipe and 3" from resonators back. Sounds almost stock, took 2/10s off 1/4 mile time, went from 15.35 at 89 mph to 15.15 at 91.84 mph.
I think that if you don't replace the stock Y pipe you are not going to get much improvement from anyone's cat-back system.
