I am thinking about getting either the volant or K&n cai..... My question is, are they really worth it????? I mean can you really tell you are gaining some horsepower or not??? Im not talking about track times or dyno runs but can you actually feel the extra power when you get on the gas..... thanks -- jer
I was wondering the same thing, i'm trying to do anything i can to increase my gas miliage.

I think the track times and dynos are the true measurement of a mod, regardless of how it feels to the driver (not all butts are calibrated the same).
Maybe that's so if all you're worried about is racing but most of us aren't. The average person isn't going to be satisfied unless they can feel the difference. I do agree though that all butts are not calibrated the same so the difference one person feels may not seem so obvious to the next.

What I meant was if it proves worthy at the track/dyno, you will probably notice a difference on the street too.
However, you may not want to do the mods since they are not a "groundbreaking" difference from stock. 20-30hp is not a huge increase that may be felt by all, but it does make for a more aggressive sounding motor (unless that bothers you). I also noticed a 1.5-2mpg increase with the Volant, Banks, and Airaid TBS mods.

Yeah, I wanted the both of best worlds, so I added a bolt on Gibson swept side exhaust, did the stock air box mod, dropped in the K&N filter, and added the Airaid TBS. I can say I am getting about 1.5 to 2 mpg increase, I say "about" because I find myself too tempted to not to hear the rumble of the Gibson and enjoy the throttle response!! So it has been hard to get in a good test tank.

Save your money, you'll get more out of adding a True Dual Exhaust if you haven't already. JMHO

I have the volant cold air intake already (still looking for the scoop) but have yet to put on an enhaust. I have some questions regarding the volant on another forum FOUND HERE
But what I want to know is - is a dual exhaust always better than a single as far as power and horsepower? Because I am looking at getting one of two exhausts and the single states it gets more HP. So out of these two - which is better?
All the exhaust free up relatively the same amount of power (give or take a couple). With that said, a single 3" will easily out outflow dual 2.5" pipes. I would choose a system that has the look/sound you are looking for and not worry too much about the power gain.
