The drone is not that bad for me because I drive over 60 MPH most of the time (highway miles). For me the drone is bad between 54 MPH to 60 MPH. I would say if you spend most of your time at this speed then the drone might get a little annoying, but if you accelerate past this MPH it's really not that bad at all

The Flowmaster kit comes with a bracket that you bolt to an existing hole in the frame for the "new" side of the exhaust. There's another thread that shows pics of this new bracket. Do a search and you should be able to find all the info you need.

Sounds good, meckman. It almost sounds idiot-proof, which means I should be able to do it!

Thanks for the info...

Yeah, that driver side hanger bracket can be a bear if you just rely on the rather lame instructions, unless they've updated them. Search for Caltitan's Flowmaster thread to see his pics of the install, which has a good pic of this hanger.

I do not know why my sound/video uploads are not working for you. I just tried them and they unzipped fine for me. I have the unzipped files posted on another site, click here to download them.

I am confirming RockyMtnTitan's comments on the drone. It exists but is acceptable to my ears (remember that the stock system drones a bit also, just quieter). My installation went pretty smoothly thanks to advice from this board. I soaked the rear cat flange bolts overnight using Liquid Wrench, and it still took a 18" breaker bar and several grunts to get those bolts free. I also had to interrupt the installation to run to the store to buy a set of deep metric sockets. The instructions are good with the exception of the location of the hole in which to install the drivers side additional hanger. The instructions are incorrect as to which side of the frame to install the hanger. I also had a little trouble installing the tips using the clamps they give you. The clamps are bearly large enough to go over the tailpipe without disconnecting, and I actually broke one of the clamps by tightening it down too tight (and it wasn't really that tight). I love the fact that I can change my mind down the road and have the dual rear exits instead of the dual die which I have now. The sound is perfect. No offense to all the Borla and Gibson owners out there, but this is what a powerful truch SHOULD sound like.

I agree, the drone is not that bad and no passenger has ever complained. My drone peaks at about 1700 RPM under a slight load (such as going up a shallow grade), but that is not my highway cruising RPM range so it is quiet in the cab when I'm doing 65 to 75 mph. I really love the deep tone of this exhaust and it sounds better and better the more miles I put on it.

I read the instructions and thought I had all the tools I need.

After I got the stock exhaust out and all the new pipes in I found out I did not have a socket for the clamps.

Instructions failed to mention the size you need for the clamps so I tried using the 14 mm which is a tad too small and bashed my head with my socket wrench when trying to put them on.

Hopefully nothing falls off until I get the right size I need for the clamps or take it to a muffler place and get it welded.

I have an IMCO muffler, which I've told is a Flowmaster copy. I cured most of the drone by deleting the resonators. Now it's no louder , just a bit raspier, and to me better.
