FYI-New flowmaster system available.

Hey everyone.

On TV today I saw an advertisement for a new flowmaster exhaust for the titan. I went on the web page and didnt see it listed. Keep your eyes open and I"m sure it will come up soon.

My 17406 is being delivered today. Is this the "new" one t22a80 is talking about?

By the way, I feel a slight [cough] coming on...I may need to call in sick tomorrow...otherwise it will be the weekend before I will have time to install it.

I was able to install mine right after work. Started in on it around 6 PM and got done around 9:30 - 10 PM. Invest in a deep socket 14mm and a 18" breaker bar, if you don't already have them.

Was there any cutting involved? Is it a cat-back? Side or rear exit?? So many questions......

No cutting at all. It replaces the stock Y pipe with a quility Y pipe into a 3" collector pipe. Then the muffler is a single in dual out design. This system can be setup to exit either duals straight out the back or dual side exits on both sides.

Another word of advice: You have to crank down on the clamps to stop the pipes from moving. It really builds up your forearm strength. Hopefully, in a week or two I can get enough time to get mine welded up at a local shop so I don't have to worry about the clamps anymore. It's not a necessary step, but I want to be positive nothing is going to move on me.

Hope this helps.

It comes with a choice between straight out the back or one out each side exits. It is a bolt on. It is called Flowmaster american thunder system. Check this out!

You need an unzip program. They are free on the internet. If i remember the thread correctly, the drone was either the same as stock or a little quieter.

Flowmaster recommends in the instructions to have the joints welded after installing. I had mine welded for $20 at my shop. Like Meckman said, you def want a sizeable breaker bar for cranking the new clamps. You need to put some serious 'hurt' on them puppies to get them to snug up properly or they will work loose on ya after they expand/contract a few times.

Also, my flange nuts (14mm)were very stubborn. I soaked them for a few hours and still managed to round one off. I then soaked them overnight and hit them with my TurboTorch and that did the trick. You may not have to do this, but there it is, just in case. Pretty easy install, took me about 3 hrs doing it myself.

There def is drone;I'd guesstimate it to be at least twice the stock drone between 1500-2000 rpm, with 1700 being the worst at light to med engine loads. The only time it bothers me a bit is when I've got a headache, otherwise it just sounds awesome!

If the exhaust is changed from single to dual, where do the hangers go for the 'new side'? Is there some pre-drilled holes that they tie into, or is it a guessing game?

I'm considering duals, but I'm really concerned about the drone. I don't mind some, just as long as it isn't louder than my RF stereo, which is going to be replaced at some point...
