Question Fog light 37.5 watts?

I replaced my fog light bulb with a 37.5 watt bulb and found out that the stock bulb is a 27 watt bulb. Now I notice that the lens is very hot. Not sure how hot it was with the stock bulbs. However I did see that others installed the 37.5 watt (893) bulbs in the OEM/stock fogs. I wonder if anyone melted their lights with these bulbs?

You might want to check and see if your wires are getting hot. If they are, you may want to replace those lights since it may melt your wiring harness.

The wires are ok but the lens is hot to the touch. There are others with this set up. Thats how I found out about the upgrade. Also was sure I read that the 893 was the replacement bulb.

I have the Silverstar 893's in my fogs and they are fine. It's been about 3 months now. I wouldn't worry about it, but if your concerned just keep an eye on em for a few days and see how hot they get. Mine have never been overly hot that I was worried about it. Most fog lights get hotter than headlights cuz of the small housings.
