Already done a search (extensive search) and I am still very indecisive.
I know it is mostly opinion based.....but...
I have looked at Volant,K&N,AirRaid,AEM.... and I have read ALL the threads.
WHICH ONE IS THE BEST?? And is an intake EVEN WORTH IT?? Will they void my warranty??
In my opinion, from what I have read/seen...the Volant LOOKS the best (which means $hit in my book)...the AirRaid looks the simplest (easy install)...K&N has been around a long time...blah,blah.
Would opening up my stock airbox give me similar results??
My last truck was an '02 Ranger and I used a drop in K&N and I felt that I had better results with my stock filter.
I am willing to spend the $$$ IF it will be worth it. I am looking for an agressive, deep but not excessive(super loud)sound...good looks...and a gain in performance wouldn't hurt either.
I will soon be getting a dual exhaust (also done alot of searches on this topic and am leaning toward the Flowmaster 70 "Thunder" kit).
Looking for a good Intake/Exhaust combination. I realize this has been discussed MANY times, but I thought I would open this topic ONE MORE TIME. Possibly there are some new or more recent opinions/product reviews out there?? If not, then I am sorry...thought I would give it a shot.

i got the k&N as a gift so i didnt have a say in it. BUT it gave me a noticble boost in mpg like 1.5 to 2. A little vroom under accel. Not to much. And it looks decent but was kindav cheesy the way they do the install. If i had to do it again which i will i am going to buy the aem brute force. BIGGER TUBE and FILTER...can only mean one thing. Plus it looks the sharpest IMO. Look around though before you buy for best price they can usaully be had for cheaper then when you think you found the cheapest. And on the exhaust i am choosing not to spend the money on an exhaust until NISMO hurrys there as* up with the headers. So i just went with a magnaflow single in single out straight through muffler with a 4 inch ss tip out the side.

Lots of satisfied Volant owners on here (me included). They will all gain roughly the same amount of power, so it is mainly what looks you are after. However, there have been a couple K&N owners that had their MAF messed up becaused of over-oiled filters from the factory (not cheap to replace).

I've also been doing a lot of "searching" for an intake for my Titan. I bought the Titan on Thursday April 28th and I've already got the mod bug.
I'm mosting looking for mods to improve fuel efficiency, but I would also like to have a slightly more aggressive sound (although I love the stock sound) to my truck.
They don't make a true CAI, so I was looking for something to reduce heat soak, since I live in the desert. The only heat shields I've seen are black . It seems that they would coat them or at least make them white to minimze the heat around the air filter. Maybe I'm being too picky, but becasue of the tremendous heat out here I tend to be conservative when choosing an intake.
I'm going to hold off until I see more intake/exhaust dyno combinations. I was also fascinated by the findings that JetTech (spelling?) had by removing the screen that acts as an O-ring and adding a throttle body spacer.
I'm leaning toward the Volant, but I may hold off for another few months to see what else may come out.

When people say "clean as a whistle", they forget that a whistle is full of spit.
How much have you guys paid for your intakes? (Volant or other)
Are you happy with the purchase/results?

I paid a little over $255 for the Brute Force AEM. Just installed it this past saturday. So far I love it. I dont know how much horsepower-torque gains it gave me, but I can tell a difference performance wise. Throttle response is faster and crisper, and the "throaty" sound when you get on it sounds awesome. Cant say much for any increase in mpg. Probably due to the sound it makes, I like getting on it too much right now.
