I went by Hypertech today and discussed why there isn't a program for us yet. I also offered my Titan as a test truck for the programers...... which would give me a free Hypertech ; - ). Anyway they are looking to start real soon on the Titans. All of the Chevy,Ford and Dodge folks swear by Hypertech. They are located in Bartlett TN. so any Memphis area Titan owners are encouraged to drop by there ( Appling Road ). So there is hope for us very soon for this awesome upgrade! I will keep everyone updated on the progress.
Oh yeah,if you see a Hypertech for the Titan on any web site it is a scam. The Hypertech folks called autoanything.com and ripped them a new one. I couldn't help but to hear the conversation. The Hypertech manager went off on them real good for false advertisment.
I'd love to see a Hypertech for the Titan.....but not sure what they mean by "soon". Hopefully, within the next 6 months. I can wait for a true programmer, though.

Never argue with idiots. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

As in soon they told me weeks....Lets all keep our fingers crossed. Again I will keep all updated. For what it is worth, I will ask Hypertech for their preference of a distributor for a group buy from this site. Not sure if Hypertech can or will choose a distributor but it's worth asking. And if they do give me a name I will help set up a group purchase but not be involved with the $$. I would prefer to let a national distributor do that.

To do a group buy here on TT, it will have to be done through a TT Supporting Vendor. So either a current vendor, or someone who is willing to sign up as a vendor to conduct this group buy. This was recently readdressed for a HID group buy from another member.
Hypertech is good - SuperChips is considered to be better - all the 04-05 Ram Hemi guys have been waiting, and waiting, and waiting, for the promised SuperChips - it was supposed to be out a couple months ago.
I know one of the big differences is that SuperChips will recalibrate the speedo for different tire sizes - since I want to put 35's on my truck I'm waiting for the SC.

That's odd that the hypertech for the latest model dodges does not have that feature. I had a 97 and I was able to recalibrate for tire size with the programmer. Did give my 5.9 in the dodge alot more pep. Hopefully the titan one will be just as sweet.
Aside from the myriad of tasks they will perform, what are the REAL benefits of a programmer on a gasoline motor when discussing performance. Is the bang-for-the -buck quotient existent. This is not a rhetorical question. I would really like to know what kind of HP and torque gains can be expected and for what price.

I think the main concept is that they advance the timing, which requires high octane gas.

Advances timing, and typically desensitizes the knock sensors slightly.
They also allow you to raise line pressure for more holding power durring shifts. This new one for the titan may or may not make the shifts feel firmer (I bet you woln't feel the difference) since the trans controls are all on a separate computer, but it should allow you to adjust for different rear gears, and different tire heights.
