Best way to lower my truck

Fellas (and ladies),
I want to customize my truck and have spent a long time debating which route to take. I have come to the conclusion that lifting a 2wd would be stupid, so i have decided to take the street truck approach.

I am going to get a set of black 22s with a chrome lip, and i want to lower the truck just a little bit in order to give it an aggressive look. I have seen a drop kit from streetbeatcustoms.com, which is a 2/4 drop...but from what i hear there have been issues with it. I also have heard of people "dearching" the rear springs. If someone could explain what on earth that is to me, i would really appreciate it.

In summary, i am looking for a mild drop, and i want to do it for as little dinero as possible (im still in college). Any help is much appreciated.

When you get it done, come to the Houston Titan meet on July 17. There will be writeup about it in the Chronicle.

PM m95roadster about a drop with bigger rims. He did that, and his looks great:

Here is an older thread about this:

from clear lake? thats cool i live over in the galleria/rice village area.

you dont by any chance know a good wheel store out by you? i have been to a bunch in the city but i havent really found a deal that catches my interest.

Also, if you are looking to upgrade the wheels/tires we should go together so we can get a better deal...dont know what your looking to do with your truck though.
