Cool AirHog or K&N air filters-performance numbers??

Still new to this forum as I have had my truck 4mos. now and LOVE IT!!! My question is simple - Anyone using the aftermarket air systems like Fram AirHog or K&N? If so, how has performance been, improved MPGs, etc.? Any help appreciated.

So what did you go with??

Speedfreak, thanks for the posting. So which one did you go with, if any, and why? I was hoping to see more performance numbers posted as far as MPG/HP etc. What can you tell me about K&N as far as your past experiences, and would a drop in help much, if all? Thanks in advance.

A fellow club member helped me out with a K&N as they had upgraded to a cold air intake.

I would go with whichever you can find the best deal on.

Post in the buy/sell section that your interested in a K&N and see what you can find. Even if its filthy the cleaning process is very simple and cheap. The largest problem most people have is over oiling there filter.

I put a K&N in about a month ago. Murrays auto for $37.00. Seems to get almost 1 mpg better. Barely noticable in throttle response. In the long run it is worth it.
