Goodby Resos

well i finally got rid of my resos.boy what a hugh difference.now the truck really pulls when i gun it.made it a little louder but not something out of this world.also i dont have a drone nomore at 1700-2000 rpm.gained low end tork.i'm very happy with it glad i did it.i was going to put an X pipe but they told me that the flomaster does the same effect inside as the X pipe.unless u have 2 mufflers.since one pipe is longer than the other than u need an X so the sound would be even as it exits the X and enters the mufflers.but one muffler both pipe go into it and comes out even.makes sence.in DR.gas web page all exh.are with 2 mufflers with X or H but no 0ne muffler with X is showed or even talked about.now Y-pipe yes they say u should replace stock one for after market one because stock one are very ristricted.

Anyone dyno before and after this mod? Not that I don't trust seat-of-the-pants evaluations, but.... OK I don't trust seat-of-the-pants evaluations.

Dude I work with dyno'd his WRX, then put an aftermarket exhaust on. He swore it gained 30 horsepower. The dyno said he gained less than 2.

Not directed at you in any way fdiesel. Just curious about some hard numbers, and I know a couple people have done the mod.

TKO no offence taken.no i have not done no dyno but trust me i know my trucks responce time.i'm one off those guys that if something is proven to work and i get it i always have that negative attitude that it wont work for me.so for me to notice that it really works it makes it harder.in other words i was thinking why am i wasting money to do this it dont work and i'm very shock to say WOW it did.suppose it did not it feels like it did so i feel better.LOL

There is a member who dyno'd before and after. Gains of 10-12 ft. lbs in the midrange were achieved. This mod works!

Well that caught my attention more than the performance gains. I've been waiting to hear of a way to fix the drone, but I'm suprised that did it. So do you have any drone at any rpm range now? Have you tried the new mod under a load (towing, heavy load, etc.)? Anyone else experience a loss of the dreaded drone after doing this mod?

No dyno numbers but it made me 0.15sec quicker in the 1/4 mile, on average.

That's quite a worthy chunk of time there!

Do the secondary cats on the 4x4s have a flange on both ends of the pipe section? It would be nice to just remove the secondary cats (or resonators) and have a company build a replacement section. Maybe the guys at Mossy should think about this one...

Yes, the 4x4's have the same flange setup as the 4x2's.

Head, he used straight pipes instead of resos like you have. What do you think the difference would be for you if you had skipped the resos and gone pipe only?
