PRG mini lift questions

I want to get the PRG "mini-lift". When you order for the rear it asks if you want a 1 inch or 1 1/2 inch block and it asks if you have a 4x2 or a 4x4.

I have a 4x4 and I want the 1 inch blocks (I read that you will probably need new shocks for the 1 1/2 inch rear lift and I am trying to avoid that)

But for the front it asks if you have a 4x4 or a 4x2 and I am a little confused if the front will be 2 1/2 inch spacer or 2 inch. Do you have to specify which one you want? If you have a 4x2 would you get a different one than if you had a 4x4? I think I want the 2 1/2 for the front.

How should I order....online? or call and place the order over the phone? How long to receive the kit?

Sorry for all the questions. Thanks

I have an 05 CC 4x4 w/ OR package. Just had PRG put on as well. I got the 2" in the front and 1" rear blocks. If I recall correctly all the 4x4's now get the 2" front and the 4x2's get the 2.5 front.

The front spacers are different for the 4X4 and the 4X2. Also, the front spacer is not 2 or 2.5 inches thick. That is the amount that they will lift the front of your truck. The spacers are actually thinner than the amount of lift that is provided due to your front end geometry. Did I confuse you? Just ask Greg!

Couple more quick questions...

Will I HAVE to get it re-aligned?? I got a 3 inch lift on my Ranger and never got it re-aligned and never had any problems.

What about the headlights? How far out of whack will they be now that the rake will be reduced by an inch? Will they still be alright?

How was the ride quality affected? In the front-better/worse? In the rear-better/worse? Stiffer ride? Bumps hit harder?

Click link below to see my Ranger...

Yes, if you order the 4x4 kit, you will get the 2" lift kit (actual spacer thickness will be about 1.2"). The 2.5" kit (actual spacer thickness is about 1.5") will fit, but you may have problems with the upper arm hitting the coil bucket on a 4x4 when you the suspension goes to full droop. PRG is working on a longer upper arm to fix this problem the right way. The alternative is to grind the coil bucket in a couple spots where is hits so that you don't hear the clunking sound. PRG can of course help you out with all the details on grinding the coil bucket. From what I hear, it is very minor.

You can order online at http://prerunners.com/store/store.htm, but it wouldn't hurt to contact PRG first to talk through the 2.5" kit and grinding the coil bucket to ease any concerns you may have.

As for the alignment, the lift will change the alignment slightly. It is recommended that you have it checked by a professional shop after installing the front kit. Some people have had the alignment shops say that their alignment was within spec after the lift, and some like me only needed minor adjustments. Mostly this is just to ensure even tire wear.

Headlights... You probably will not need to adjust your headlights. A few have had their headlights aimed too high from the factory and after they leveled the truck, it only accentuated the incorrect aiming. Most of us have not had any problems with the headlights after the PRG kits.
