has anyone thought of getting exhaust cutouts, are they even worth it, would you feel any gain in performance. you can buy them for alot cheeper than a new cat-back exhaust just wondering.

well I doubt most here would like the sound as its loud I had straight pipes after the resonators and man did it sound awesome but would have been far too loud towing a 24' boat so I will be adding some cutouts once I can afford the electric ones.
When I put a cat-back on my F-150 I had to have a local muffler shop cut of the stock exhaust. I drove home from the shop with open pipes after the cat. Believe it or not it wasn't too loud, but I didn't notice any performance gain either. But this was on a Ford...the Titan may be different. Good luck!
i was thinking of putting them if front of the resonator but after the cats , because there are 2 sets of resonators/cats on the engine before the y pipe one set is tucked up by the engine close to the exhaust manifold and then the other set which are right befor the y pipe, i think it would sound nice with open pipes when you want and to have the ability to change it back if you want it quiet

Would be good for high end power, is that the idea?
Straight pipes (from cat back) suck off the line, but at higher RPMs have an obvious advantage.
Would the idea be to have the ELECTRIC cutouts that you can hit a switch in the cab and hammer down when needed? I can't see coping with a permanent loss in low end torque. For the low RPMs don't you need just the right amount of back pressure?

Ditto on the electric cut-outs...best of both worlds that way.

watch this and listen good. as I fly buy im just about at idle and at the end of the vid I floor it again to pass the mazda once again http://www.putfile.com/media.php?n=MOV0022948
also these are just 2.5" straight pipes comnig off the resonator. I have driven with it dumping where the resonators are and that would be too loud in the cabin so I will be placing the cut-out a little more downstream in front of my muffler(added a magnaflow for when I tow) or where the resonators are and just use them when I wanna scare someone and trust me this truck will stop people in their tracks with the straight pipes.

Sounds kinda like my lawn mower I didn't see in the video where you were ahead of him.

well he had well over 100ft head start I flew past him a little down the road
he was doin a fly by fr someone back and forth when I ran to the corner market on the way back I saw him and punched till I was on his *** then let off cause there was no passing room as someone was in the other lane then when it was clear I got on it again
What would be cool is an electonic cutout that proportionally opens based on engine load (vacuum) or maybe exhaust backpressure. I remember reading about something like this on the autospeed.com online mag I subscribe to. Kinda pricey, but very cool.
