Performance Hood ?

I was curious after watching some power block TV about the idea of a functional performance hood - like the Joe Gibbs truck.

I found this - I can't tell if it actually channels the air into the air box area. Has anyone else found anything for our Titan's?

I think this looks pretty good, I would rather it be more cornered off than curved.

And of course, the price...ouch.

It looks to me like there is an opening above the filter location, and maybe even one on the opposite side also. In other words, it looks functional.

By the way, Glassworks makes nice stuff. My cousin has 'glass fenders, hood, and bed sides on his '91 Toyota and they are very well made, and line up as well as any other I have seen. Since my hood was damaged by road debris 3-weeks after buying it, rather than spend $400 fixing it I may go for this hood.

I'm thinking the same thing.

Even if there is an opening above the filter, what good would it do since the filter intake is in the fenderwell?

If you have any aftermarket intake like the k&n or Brute Force this would be great!

It would be made for after-market CAI's like the K&N, etc.

You could modify the volant cover to accept the air from this hood.....

I like it. Pretty nice. I will have to call and ask them if the hood is functional in anyway besides looks. I'll keep ya posted.

OK, so I called and ask and was told that it is not a functional hood. The guy said that when they were working with Nissan on making the hood, they were told not to have anymore air going to the engine than how it was designed by the factory. Although he said that this was back in early 2004 and know that things are more than likely different. WTF? Why would this be? I always thought the more air the better.

And this guy listened to Nissan? Maybe they should listen to the people who will buy it. I really like the looks of it and if it were functional would definetly buy it.
